Feds: Company tied to polygamous group used child labor

Source: Associated Press

August 31, 2016

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Federal labor lawyers have filed another child labor case against a Utah-based company tied to a polygamous group alleging underage laborers were put to work for long hours for little pay in dangerous conditions.

The U.S. Department of Labor said in court documents that Phaze Concrete used teenagers for work on new stores for Wal-Mart in Missouri, Scheels All Sports in Kansas and Hobby Lobby in Nebraska, among other jobs.

Federal investigators said they believe Phaze pulled many teenage workers from the group's home base along the Utah-Arizona border over the decade.

Two teens who grew up in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints said in court documents they were pulled out of school to go to work at ages 12 and 14.

They breed the girls young and often, often against their will and to much older men. Groom them to accept the pedophilia they are subjected to. Deny them educations. Force the young mothers to collect welfare and food stamps to support the children they are forced to have. The girls/women are then forced to hand over any cash or foodstuffs purchased with their benefits to FLDS leadership.

The food isn't given back to members, with widespread reports of malnutrition and food scarcity.

They use the boys as slave labor. Deny them educations so they are unlikely to leave the community when grown. Any pay goes back to FLDS leadership.

These poor people aren't members of a church. They are livestock.

I wonder how using unlawful child labor, is in keeping with their "sincere religious beliefs"???

my question exactly. Isn't polygamy against the law? Isn't marrying females under the age of consent against the law? What the fuck is wrong with the criminal justice system?
