Clinton Camp: We’ll Release ‘Additional Medical Information’ In Next Few Days

Source: Talking Points Memo

Hillary Clinton’s campaign said Monday that “additional information” about the Democratic nominee’s health would be released in the next few days, after she was forced to leave a 9/11 memorial event early on Sunday due to the effects of a bout of pneumonia.

“We have been in touch with her physician this morning to get the material together,” Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said in an MSNBC interview. “We'll release that to further put to rest any lingering concerns about what you saw yesterday.”

Fallon noted that Clinton released a letter in the summer of 2015 outlining her personal and family medical history, but will “go beyond that."

He insisted that there “is no other undisclosed condition” besides the pneumonia and seasonal allergies that have caused Clinton to break into coughing fits at a few recent campaign events. Fallon also noted that there were no lingering complications from a concussion Clinton sustained during a fall in 2012.

In 2008 McCain released all of his medical records. There were 1100 pages that were reviewed by a panel of independent doctors. No candidate has met that standard since.

his huge tumor-like growths he had on his face/neck? That type of thing. Whereas with Hillary, it's just conspiracy theories and fabricated attacks on her health. By coincidence, she now has pneumonia, but that is not something visible like McCain had.

Like Trump and Clinton. Old people develop conditions. Clinton takes blood thinners to prevent strokes. Not CT. She had a fall and concussion. Not CT.

Pretty sure I'm not dying. Post-cold, allergies, post-nasal drip. I'm pretty sure I'm fit to work. Does Trump never cough? Get a cold?

a few weeks ago and within 48 hrs, I had a fever, chills and slept for 30 hrs on and off. Then I blew my nose for a couple of days when the coughing started. The cough finally quit about 48 hrs ago. I went to the doctor last Wednesday back here in Europe and he said, no pneumonia but there was fluid in my left lung. No virus because they checked my blood work. Severe allergy attack. Like Hillary, I have hypothyroidism too. We get sick sometimes and it sucks but we aren't dead yet.

some of us don't come out alive. My grandfather died of pneumonia back in 1934. But he was dirt poor and she has access to the best health care in the world. She'll be fine. Humans get sick. Some survive, some don't unfortunately and some were part of our hearts. We need to remember that none of us get out alive.

Peace

8. The Clinton Campaign Should Redo the Response to This

I don't think it is wise for Clinton to avoid being totally up front about her ailment. To even suggest that a few days rest is going to relieve the symptoms of pneumonia is, to anyone who has ever had pneumonia, totally absurd.
By putting on this happy face her campaign is only stoking the rumor mills and casting doubt on her health.
The campaign should be totally and thoroughly honest with the American people about this.

Even though we are extremely proactive with offering flu vaccinations, when the seasons change people get sick. All the hand sanitizer in the world won't help if you encounter someone who is sick and contagious. Touching an elevator button, shaking a hand, opening a door, answering a phone, typing on a shared keyboard, flying in an airplane or riding a bus... All of it can pass the germ. Add to that the fact that the bugs are getting more aggressive and antibiotic resistant and you have a pretty good chance of catching something every year or two. I've gotten pneumonia twice in the 4 years I have worked at the VA. Very tough to kick.

Seems to me this would be a great time for Hillary to open the discussion of those who need the Affordable Care Act to provide healthcare for those who are fighting these tough seasonal influenza breakouts and how she will make it better.
