Dem Senator To Trump: If Someone Kills Clinton The Blood Is 'On Your Hands'
Source: Talking Points Memo
A Democratic senator sent a warning to Donald Trump Saturday: if Hillary Clinton is killed "the blood will be on your hands."
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) took to Twitter to condemn Trump's comments about disarming Clinton's bodyguards and seeing "what happens," tweeting Trump directly with his warning.

Hey @realDonaldTrump, if you keep suggesting your supporters kill @HillaryClinton, someone will listen. The blood will be on your hands.

Murphy previously criticized Trump's "Second Amendment people" remark, saying it qualified as an assassination threat and calling for a Secret Service investigation, according to The Hill.
Murphy is not the only Democrat speaking up. Former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who survived her own assassination attempt, released a statement on Twitter condemning the comments and calling Trump "reckless" and "irresponsible."

It is interfering with our democracy
I wonder how much he's trolling Obama to see what he will do about it?

(16,846 posts)him or have him brought in for questioning. Trump wants to further inflame his supporters and he knows that it would drive them crazy for Obama to do something about his encouraging gun owners to make a second amendment solution. Obama has to walk a fine line here, but he is much smarter than Trump, so I expect him to come up with a way to handle this.

(260 posts)I was 18 in 1968 and could not vote as the voter age was 21 but I got my selective service classification for the draft as 1A. I was soooo against the war. I supported Bobby Kennedy.
The next presidential election was 1972 and I was 21 and got my first ballot (absentee as I was serving on the Cambodia, Thai, Laotian border). Unfortunately, I still believed Nixon was ending the war so I voted against my interest and punished Democrats by voting for Nixon.
2 months later, after Nixon's landslide reelection and during Christmas 1972, I had to participate in the largest bombing campaign in world history raining dearth on a country of peasants.
Protest votes kill people and wreck the souls of the participants. Idealism expands civil rights but in democracy it must be part of the political process, usually ugly, not outside of it yelling and shaking fists.
Participation in voting for a straight Democratic ticket is now, in 2016, a moral imperative. There is no draft, only your sense of purpose that is above your needs but as pragmatic as war.
Your country needs you. VOTE Hillary as if your life depended on it because it just may.
PS: Take as many folks with you as you can to vote.

(47,501 posts)Your vote in 1972 was understandable. Many of us blamed Johnson for our involvement in Vietnam, though we hoped that McGovern would get us out of that war.
My only republican vote was a vote against Mayor Richard Daley in 1971. I don't know now who he was running against, but anyone but Daley seemed like a positive move at the time. Alas, it appeared that only death would get him out of office.

(833 posts)for your service and for emphasizing the necessity of voting. I just posted this in another thread, but it really belongs here. In her George Mason speech, Mrs. Obama said that her husband beat Romney by winning by only 9 votes per precinct in Ohio and by only 6 votes per precinct in Florida. The excuse that "my vote doesn't count" is clearly disproved by these figures. As President O'bama said, "Don't boo; vote!" Every single vote has never more essential than it is now.

(87 posts)When will the head of the Secret Service call for a stop to this type of talk? Their jobs are hard enough without someone calling for an attack.

(22,037 posts)Consider that he has suggested that the same organization that is providing his security should relax the security around his opponent! Mr. Trump's behavior is plainly unacceptable.
The Secret Service must be going crazy. In spite of a few black eyes in recent years, they've successfully protected all of the Presidents, Vice Presidents and their families. Donald Trump makes a mockery of the protective services.
Would many of the agents take a bullet for Donald Trump?
I wouldn't.
