Syria conflict: 'Helicopter dropped bombs on aid convoy'

Source: bbc

The UN has suspended aid deliveries in Syria after an attack on a humanitarian convoy killed about 20 people.

Media activist Zakaryah Junaid told BBC Arabic’s Nader Ibrahim a helicopter dropped barrel bombs on the convoy while it was being unloaded at a Syrian Arab Red Crescent warehouse in the rebel-held town of Urum al-Kubra.

A later attack by jets prevented rescue workers from the Syria Civil Defence, known as the “White Helmets”, from helping victims at the scene, he added.

The Syrian government and its ally Russia have said their aircraft were not involved.

....the only actor in the area with the MO of dropping barrels bombs out of helicopters and planes is the Syrian government of Assad.

Helicopter bombing requires daylight to see the target because a ballistic computer is not available for helicopters. The pictures indicate no bomb craters, no 23mm cannon holes, no twisted metal. I think these trucks were put on fire by the rebels. The rebels were already on record as saying they would not let the convoy get to east Aleppo.

The only countries that ever bomb convoys, hospitals, or anything of that nature are the US and its allies. I don't think there is any history of Syrian helicopters ever dropping barrel bombs on aid workers or in the middle of neighborhoods that have civilians in them. All the claims of that have been proven to be false flags because logic dictates that Syria would never do such a thing and that if a bomb was dropped then it was by the US or its allies.

Look at the pictures and the heaviest things to hit those trucks are molotov cocktails and RPG at most. State Department said they believed it was a pair of SU-24's which is bullshit to. SU-24 dropping 300 pounders would obliterate the trucks and leave twisted metal and a crater. They fly high and don't do strafing.

The Latest: US Holds Russia Responsible for Aid Convoy Hit

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS BEIRUT — Sep 20, 2016, 6:45 PM ET

The Latest on developments in Syria, where a cease-fire is faltering further after airstrikes hit an aid convoy overnight (all times local):

12:50 a.m.

The White House says the U.S. holds Russia responsible for airstrikes by either Syria or Russia that hit an aid convoy in Syria.

White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said all information indicates an airstrike hit the convoy. He says that since the Syrian rebels lack an air force, that means either Syria or Russia conducted the strikes.

He says regardless of who carried out the strike, the U.S. considers Russia responsible because it was Russia's responsibility under the cease-fire deal to limit Syrian airstrikes.

Russia and Syria both denied carrying out the convoy bombing. Russia's Defense Ministry has blamed the damage on a cargo fire.
