(11,605 posts)I hate to say it, but the people rioting are playing right into Trump's hands, and it doesn't seem like this was necessarily misconduct by the police, unlike the Oklahoma incident.
I am all for peaceful protesting but rioting is a step way too far.

Seems some just want an excuse to riot.

(2,286 posts)Lying in the LaQuan McDonald case. Funny how the prospect of cops lying never seems to be a reality in the worldview of you and other posters in this thread
Elmergantry
(884 posts)But assuming they always do in every case so as to riot is idiocy that does nothing to make your case.
BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)You automatically ran to the conclusion that those people who don't agree with the current police version are liars. It's right there in your post. Assuming cops tell the truth in every case is also idiocy when you expect people to continue to accept these incidents with no hint of police accountability. People of color have been saying for years that cops frequently lie in their interactions with us and yet the larger community has done nothing about it.

BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)How about waiting for facts before you call people liars
Elmergantry
(884 posts)So saying people believed the lying liars was correct and appropriate.
BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)What's your point?
Elmergantry
(884 posts)Protesting when the facts arent in is imbecilic. Rioting is doubling down on it.
BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)Who calls people liars before all the facts are in
Elmergantry
(884 posts)Answer:
Those who said hands up dont shoot. I am calling them liars today, well after the facts came in.
BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)You responded to a poster who said that some people in Charlotte might not believe the police version of events by saying why do they believe lies from the other side. That's calling someone a liar.
Elmergantry
(884 posts)That is to be seen. Just wondering why people are jumping to conclusions when history has shown it could be lies as it was with hands up dont shoot ss an example.
BronxBoy
(2,286 posts)The other side of the equation. Some cops lie. If you had simply said wait for all the facts without your continuing reference to hands up don't shoot, you'd have no quarrel from me
Elmergantry
(884 posts)Thats why i was addressing the other side to cool its kets lest they be made to look like fools. Again. Sure cops have lied in the past. U have no argument from me on that one.

Its NC; they stop the wrong car and someone inside is gonna start shooting quickly

(11,949 posts)And it is what I expected. Started out with locals having a peaceful protest. Then the 'professional' anarchist who have probably been driving all day to get the Charlotte started rioting. Most of the ones I have seen kicking and throwing the tear gas canisters at the cops are white boys in their 20s. The cops seem to have them pegged because when the can they rush a team out and grab them, which infuriates their comrades. They have those silly vest they make with red crosses on them and when not stirring things up act like they are journalist.
There are also locals from a church, African Americans, chanting Jesus Saves and trying to stay between the cops and the other protesters.
This is not longer a protest, but a riot by anarchists. And I purposely do not use the term 'far-left' although many would consider it accurate. But in my opinion when you get too far to either side you start looking like the opposition.

(11,949 posts)The right does not a monopoly on idiots. We have had an anarchist movement for over a decade.
They do not help anything and just love violence and the adrenaline of a riot.

(3,426 posts)But the media will not point that out. Kind of Helter Skelter.
Right now I see several white guys lined up nose to nose facing off with the cops And a few that are completely covered so you can't tell what race they are. I am wondering if these people aren't the Alt-right trying to smear the lines between a valid, heartfelt protest and a riot.
