Police Chief said one protester had died; now they've corrected that to say he's in critical condition.

The Mayor says she will view the dash cam video (how come she hasn't already seen it?!?) tomorrow and apparently then would release it to the public:
a tweet from the City of Charlotte said, no, it wouldn't be made public.

This was not nearly as bad as many other protests. Nothing like the one we saw in Seattle several years ago. There were some idiots wearing masks and taunting the police. There were a lot of "rubber neckers" milling around with their phones and ipads taping videos. The police were out in force, launching tear gas and making arrests.

and the police chief is being quoted as saying that it does not definitively show Scott pointing a gun at anyone

Charlotte’s police chief plans to show video of an officer shooting a black man to the slain man’s family, but the video will not be immediately released to the public, he said on Thursday.

Kerr Putney told a news conference that the video does not definitively show 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott pointing a gun at anyone.
