Trump: 'My Strongest Asset Maybe By Far Is My Temperament'

Source: Talking Points Memo

After arguing with moderator Lester Holt for several minutes about his previous support for the Iraq war, Donald Trump claimed during Monday’s presidential debate that he had a “much better temperament” than Hillary Clinton.

Holt used Trump’s past support for the war as the lead-in to a question on why his judgment was better than that of the Democratic nominee, who voted for the 2003 invasion of Iraq as secretary of state.

“I have much better judgment than she does,” Trump said. “I also have a much better temperament than she has. She spent—let me tell you. She spent hundreds of millions of dollars on an advertising—you know, they get Madison Avenue into a room. I think my strongest asset maybe by far is my temperament.” “I have a winning temperament,” he added. “I know how to win.”

Asked to respond, an amused-looking Clinton wiggled her shoulders, and said, “woo!” to laughter from the audience.

With the crowd in general. It sounded like 200 people were laughing at trump and 15 people were randomly cheering for him.

4. Honestly, to me that sounds like Trump's usual stump speech

Totally disjointed, no complete sentences, no complete thoughts, just "I am the Greatest Ever, and I AM FILTHY RICH!!! Look At ME".

He comes off like a spoiled affluenza infected ten year old with a billion dollars and a staff of enablers.

...he won't show his tax returns because he ISN'T filthy rich anymore!
He refuses to prove in any way that he is still a billionaire, even when
someone calls him out. I'd say he's still a millionaire several times over
but is no longer a billionaire. Otherwise, he'd prove it.

The guy is a textbook narcissist and has wafer thin skin. He's temperamentally unfit to be president.

was Donald Trump kicking his own ass. Hillary needled him right where he lives. She made a few very clever references to his supposed riches while discussing his tax returns, which is one of his biggest pressure points. She also called him straight up racist twice in one word. I was so happy to hear her use the word.

So, Trump was incandescent with rage, I think. He was so angry he couldn't even talk straight. Started talking about hotels, and how no-one calls Sean Hannity, and The Cyber, and all that baloney. Took minutes and minutes when Holt was giving him seconds. But you know what they say, never stop your enemy when he's in the middle of making a mistake.

Hillary knew the pressure points to hit him at, and he rose the bait predictably and inevitably. Couple of good clean hits in there for Hillary, followed by a good 15 minutes of Trump punching himself in the face.

Also, he managed to tell the black moderator that he didn't know what he was talking about re: stop and frisk. Wow, Donny. Why don't you have a seat before you bleed any more black votes there, eh?

And he just couldn't WAIT to respond, unraveling himself in the process.

18. He was really melting at the Sean Hannity part. Seriously, Donald?

"Nobody calls Sean Hannity." That's because he's a brainless idiot who just underscores your incompetence.

It was a beautiful thing to see -- shooting himself in both feet simultaneously.

I kept waiting for him to make some point there about his son. But he just jumped off. Between the sniffing, the aggression at the beginning, and then the deflation, and the complete incoherence the second hand, I was thinking cocoaine. Really.

Trump is showing his brilliance of getting around the age requirement in the constitution, while still getting to be the first infant president. Might have been interesting to see summits having nap time and story time. Too bad we won't see it.
