Coffman: Trump Should ‘Step Aside’ And ‘Do The Right Thing’
Source: CBS Denver
Republican Rep. Mike Coffman has broken from his partys ranks and has said that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump should step aside.
Coffman released this statement on Friday evening: For the good of the country, and to give the Republicans a chance of defeating Hillary Clinton, Mr. Trump should step aside. His defeat at this point seems almost certain. And four years of Hillary Clinton is not what is best for this country. Mr. Trump should put the country first and do the right thing.
This comes hours after audio of Trump making lewd comments about women made headlines.

(6,699 posts)The jack ass serves a purpose. He has brought ALL the hate filled loons out of their closets, and NOW we can deal with this disease we have in broad daylight....the racial, gender, religious, ethnic bigotry and unjustified hatred. It's time we acknowledge that racism is alive and strong in this country. MILLIONS of his supporters think it's OK to feel that way and say such offensive things out loud. Why?...because the jack ass, pompous, spoiled rotten sack of orange shit from NY says so.
Deal with it.

(145 posts)Driving home from work tonight (I work in Aurora, east of Denver), saw a homemade sign on one of the freeway overpasses: COFFMAN = TRUMP. What a coincidence that on the same day, Coffman discovers what a liability Trump is.
Sorry, recognizing that your job is at stake does not constitute some kind of moral awakening...

(1,527 posts)I think this recording is a slap that finally sinks Trump, but I am afraid of a deal that we could still end up with a President Pence if things go sideways. Pence with real power is as scary as Trump with real power. I at this point do not think that it is likely they can win, but sometimes weird blow-back can happen. I would think this is not within the realm of reality except I had to bleach out my eyeballs after reading comments after one of the online stories. I did not know people were that insane, or their favorite words were "abortionists, and sodomites".
The Republicans only hope would be a "deal" with Trump is that he would immediately resign and hand off to his "elected" VP Pence.
"A vote for Trump, is a Vote for Pence".

(24,764 posts)His outsized ego won't let him. He wants to win, even if it means cheating and rigging the election--all while accusing Clinton of trying to rig the results by getting more people to vote for her.

(58,785 posts)somehow a man being rejected by his own state would be able to hoist the party out of the mud onto his shoulders and then stagger speedily across the finish line. Or Trump could pledge to let Pence run the government and be "allowed" to stay as pretend president. Umhm.
