Carly Fiorina calls on GOP to replace Trump

Source: Politico

Carly Fiorina is calling on Donald Trump to "step aside" for the good of the Republican Party and make way for his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

"Donald Trump does not represent me or my party. I understand the responsibility of Republicans to support their nominee. Our nominee has weighty responsibilities as well. Donald Trump has manifestly failed in these responsibilities," Fiorina said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

I never understood why him in a helmet riding in a tank was the end of his campaign. Especially after bush came out wearing huge goggles and carrying a chainsaw while "cutting brush".

McCain picking Palin and "suspending his campaign," Romney dissing 49 percent, and now Trump's literal outreach to women are just a mere bump in the road.

They wouldn't even extend voters registration from Hurricane Matthew. They cannot now anoint Mike Pence and ask Donald to step aside. That ship has sailed.

Ballots have been printed. Early voting and absentee voting has begun. They have no mechanism in place to do this. In some cases, they can replace a candidate if they died. Sometimes, the dead person remains on the ballot and is elected anyway (Missouri).

What would become of those votes if Trump is replaced?

I don't believe Pence would do it anyway. He is positioning himself for 2020, and this would taint him forever. Let's hope it does no matter what they decide!

Donald's genius got them to this point, they'll have to live with it.

plans to leave & they cannot make him leave. Secondly, should he even resign, there are rules in all the states, litigation & everything else they would have to get in line to even find a replacement is too late & the election would be over.

Would Cruz accept someone other than him because according to their rules, Pence is not automatic.

All kinds of reasons they cannot just replace him.

Didn't she give her word/pledge to support the eventual nominee?

If she has no integrity to keep her word, forget it.

My, so many Repukes are coming out of the woodwork now saying they're "disgusted" by Trump's words, and that they don't represent the party. But talk about a phony mea culpa. They're perfectly willing to let women die if they're raped, or carry a fetus to term in cases of rape or incest. For Republicans, women are basically sperm repositories.

Can the party just pull a name out of a hat? Or will they give the nod to whoever came in second in the primary?

It seems they would almost be forced to pick Cruz. And that would tighten the race.

because he believes, correctly I would say, that the candidate needs to
be rigorously tested in the primaries by the press, voters, and people

That criteria severely limits choices to the remaining members of the
clown car, and some of them dropped out early
