RNC halts Victory project work for Trump

Source: Politico

The Republican National Committee on Saturday appeared to at least temporarily halt the operations of some of the “Victory” program that is devoted to electing Donald Trump.

The move comes as the GOP nominee is under mounting pressure from elected Republicans to step aside after he was caught on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women.

In an email from the RNC to a victory program mail vendor, with the subject line “Hold on all projects,” the committee asked the vendor to “put a hold” on mail production.

“Please put a hold/stop on all mail projects right now. If something is in production or print it needs to stop. Will update you when to proceed,” Lauren Toomey, a staffer in the RNC’s political department, wrote in an email that was obtained by POLITICO.

He will destroy them if they try to shove Trump back in the box. Because that is how Donald Trump responds to anyone who does not bow down in his presence.

He could choose to just stay home and tweet his campaign speeches & there's nothing the RNC can do about it this late in the game.

Trump owns the Republican brand through Nov 8th.
Ha!

He is probably preparing lawsuits against the RNC as we speak so wherever this goes, Pop the popcorn folks. What a great week for late night comedy!!

We are at the point that tRump may very well be considering going out on 5th Avenue and killing some random stranger, as that would be about the only thing that could possibly overshadow this story over the weekend, and into the debate, then on to election day.

You know how they say a story has 'legs'? This is the Rockettes of stories. Not just the current lineup, but ALL of the Rockettes, since their inception. This story is all of the Rockettes there have ever danced in the troupe, over the past 80+ years, as acted out by an army of centipedes, on steroids. This story definitely has 'legs'.

His surrogates are shitting all over themselves trying not to have to defend him, but to try to pivot everything to 'but Hillary...' and 'but Bill...', and the hosts of the shows are having none of it. Even FauxSnooze has had to cover this story, and they are finding that there is NO defense for what he said. Scottie Nell Hughes looks like she's eating her own liver, and complaining about Ana Navarro saying 'pussy' on TV, when she can't bring herself to condemn tRump as deplorable for using the very same word. Kellyanne Conway has fallen off the map today, and is very likely curled into a fetal position in a dim corner someplace, cuddling an empty bottle of Thunderbird, and wondering aloud, 'Why me???'

He just lost the vote of every evangelical; every woman; and essentially every man that ever had a sister, daughter, or mother. That pretty well covers the population. He can't win at this point. He knows it, and it's gnawing his guts out. There is nothing he can do about it; now his own words finally were so outrageous that his hardcore supporters are looking like idiots trying to deflect to anything, just ANYthing(!) other than this, but there is no deflection or pivot this time. He'll spend a day or two lashing out like a trapped animal, but it's over and deep down, he knows it. His advisers know it, his surrogates know it, and the RNC knows it. He will fade into a well-deserved obscurity, and his obituaries will all credit this video release with his humiliating downfall. The tRump brand isn't tarnished - it's a rusted out hulk, ready to be smelted down, and he's capable of taking the GOP with him.

His campaign is over. All that's left is burying the rotting corpse before it stinks up the place too badly.

The GOP is officially dead; tRump has poisoned the well, and destroyed the 'brand'. The 'party of Lincoln' will be forevermore remembered the 'party that created and supported tRump'. A whole slew of the down-ticket races just flipped to the Democratic side with the release of this damning video. A lot of the tRump voters will switch to a 3rd-party candidate (they won't support him, and can't support Hillary), further diluting the pool. The Democratic Party will wind up taking not only the White House, but the Senate and the House of Representatives...and several governorships. tRump just handed the US government to us, on a gold-plated silver platter. President Clinton will appoint at least 3 or 4 Supreme Court justices, keeping the country on a progressive path for generations.

The way the party officials and tRump surrogates are scrambling around tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if he was no longer the GOP candidate by the time of the debate on Sunday. There is no amount of damage control that they could possibly do to counteract his self-immolation.

They will blame him, and then the conspiracy theorists will decide that he was a Democrat all along, who just ran to destroy the party. (They have already started - see WA State GOP head Susan Hutchison's blathering about the video being OK, since tRump was a Democrat back then!) They will fail to see the irony in their creating and supporting him, to the point of their own demise.

Get out the vote this year, and make certain that the demise of the GOP is one of the most crushing defeats in history. Show the rest of the world that we really aren't batshit-crazy enough to actually consider making a sociopath like tRump the nominee of a viable political party, by obliterating the party that let him take over.

But still find it somewhat sad. The Republican party was once the progressive party in this country. And then became the fiscally conservative but socially liberal party early in the last century. And when they fought FDR it was not really racist but economic. Of course they were wrong, but sincere. They racist were the southern Democrats. Johnson depended on Republican votes to pass all the progressive acts of the 60's. And they certainly never questioned FDR's legitimacy. Did not like him, but accepted that he had won.

And this is where character matters. Had Goldwater, Nixon and Reagan rejected the whole southern strategy and continued to run on liberal social policy with more conservative fiscal matters this nation would be so much better off.

But of course racism was the easy way to win the entire south, which combine with the parts of the country that always voted Republican insure their victories or 30 years.

It is falling apart now, but it has caused huge damage.
