Alaska’s 2 GOP Senators Call For Trump To Drop Out

Source: Talking Points Memo

Both of Alaska’s Republican senators called for Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race on Saturday, condemning in strong terms the predatory comments about women that the Republican nominee made in a tape released Friday.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) was first to issue a statement calling for Trump to “step aside” and offering support for his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R), according to the Alaska Dispatch News.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) followed up a few minutes later on Twitter, saying that Trump “forfeited the right to be our party’s nominee.”

If he thinks he's ok with it, it will take a lot of legal wrangling to
get him to quit.

The GOP party faithful will be very vindictive if they can't have their Trump.

Can Senator Murkowski produce the legal documents of forfeiture?

They will, of course, feign interest, affection and loyalty just to get to your wallet, full of money from the mob and loans from Russian oligarchs and other shady people. I'm sure you know this. "You can (get away with) anything when you're a star" or rich. But, in reality, everyone despises you. How any woman can avoid vomiting upon your touch is beyond me.

Welcome to your Lonesome Rhodes moment.

Sarah Palin is still sticking with Trump despite 'beyond abhorrent' comments

Melanie Mason

Sarah Palin has no shortage of disapproving adjectives to describe the leaked tapes of Donald Trump bragging about groping women, but the former Alaska governor is not joining the wave of Republicans abandoning the GOP nominee.

In a Facebook post Saturday afternoon, Palin described the comments as "disgusting, shameful, totally disrespectful 'locker room' garbage, privately shared between two Hollywood playboys over a decade ago." But the former Republican vice presidential nominee quickly pivoted to more familiar targets -- the media and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Palin said the media's focus on the leaked tape was "as offensive" as Trump's comments, arguing that concerns over the Supreme Court, the economy and other matters are of greater importance.

"Going around media filters you clearly see one candidate offering a bold vision with solid plans to build a stronger, safer, greater America, while the career politician in the race offers only tired, sad, unsustainable, illogical ways of the past that will leave our children unsafe, broken and abused," Palin wrote.
