Pence Says Trump’s Threat To Jail Clinton Was One Of The Debate’s ‘Better Moments’
Source: Huffington Post
Republican vice presidential nominee and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said Monday that his running mate, Donald Trump, threatening to throw Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton behind bars was one of the better moments of the debate.
Trumps remarks at the Sunday presidential debate went beyond saying he would investigate Clinton ― he said definitively that she would be in jail, prompting comparisons to countries where dictators imprison their opponents, as MSNBCs Stephanie Ruhle noted.
This isnt the Congo. That sounds like a third-world dictator to me, she said on MSNBC Live.

The GOP has largely accepted and encouraged calls to imprison Clinton ― the Republican National Convention including frequent chants from the crowd to lock her up ― and Trump has previously said his opponent has got to go to jail.

This is just a reminder that there is not much difference between Trump and "mainstream" Republicans on a lot of difference, except that he says out loud what most would simply insinuate, which is why Trump is totally unfit. Even most Republicans know that you just can't say you are going to jail your political opponents.

(18,402 posts)Because jailing a political opponent (on recommendation or order of the president) would be a clearly impeachable offense ... and that would put a vice-president Pence next in line to assume the presidency. Of course, Trump will never get that far, but I can see Pence would think that in that unlikely situation, it would be the only chance to get rid of this nutcase he knowingly chose to run with.

(23,147 posts)I think I fully understand exactly what happened to Pence when trump got that cheer for basically chanting "lock her up!" during the debate. The cheer lifted the incredibly heavy weight that was sitting directly on Pence's chest for the previous two days. For just a moment, he got a little lift that heartened him and took the pain away, and he remembers it as one of the "better moments" because, for just a second, he felt like everyone was distracted by trump so he could sneak away with his family to an undisclosed location and nobody would notice until it was too late.

(12,656 posts)Like the crazy woman said, "Gawd is using Trump to bring America back to him"...meaning that Trump is just a tool, and Pence is going to be the real President before 2017 is over.
And then, in their little Dominionist "7 Mountains" world view they'll get their Roe v Wade overturned, and all those evil, too smart for their own britches Liberals will get re-educated so that they'll stay in their place, or go to jail, or maybe just "disappeared", like they were in Chile and Argentina back in the day.
And the World will get smaller, with the "Good, Wealthy Christians" in charge. And Jesus will come back. All because of Trump, like that harlot in the Bible.
Because no one will mess with America when it's Strong, White and Christian again.

(16 posts)If his faith in god and grace requires Pence to accept the apologies of those who ask for forgiveness, would one of the idiots in media please, please, please ask pence the following: "If your faith guides you to accept Trump's apologies for bragging about his sexual assaults upon women, shouldn't that same faith guide you to accept Hillary's use of a private email server for which she has apologized numerous times?"
