Report: Paul Ryan Still Might Ditch Donald Trump

Source: Talking Points Memo

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is still Hamleting over his support for Donald Trump.

Politico reported that those in Ryan's inner circle say that the speaker is torn between his personal feelings about the tape showing Donald Trump discussing grabbing women by the genitals and his desire to preserve the historic GOP majority in the House of Representatives. Despite months of equivocation, Ryan is still considering formally unendorsing him, according to the report.

Ryan told members on a conference call Monday that he was going to focus the rest of the election season on supporting House members and that he would not campaign with Trump. However, Ryan immediately received push back and criticism from his rank and file members who believed Ryan was essentially handing the election to Hillary Clinton if he took that position.

Ryan's in-between position has earned him criticism on both sides.

1. Ryan Is Only Interested In Saving His Own Job...

He's a coward and won't take a stand behind his convictions. His equivocating on this will further cause divisions within his Party. We are learning as American People that there are no leaders in their Party.

They aren't working for the American People - they are only working for themselves.

the house majority, and thus walk back his comments about abandoning Trump following very bad feedback from the armchair lynch mob.

Call me cynical, but suspect these "leaks" of his moral conflict are just spin to dress up his reputation. He'll be in a lot of biographies and history books.

Disloyal R's are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary. They come at you from all sides.
They don’t know how to win - I will teach them!

Surely, he doesn't think his Democratic opponent has a shpt at Wisconsin-1? How can anybody with a shred of dignity continue to endorse a candidate who is openly attacking him or her?

The disgust with the GOP is at a fever pitch on the loonier right wing sites. I'm praying Donald tweets something along those lines. Please please please. The bind he's put the GOP in is just delicious. They must denounce him and risk alienating their base or not and earn the disgust of the less loony among them. Oh how I hope for more tapes in the month we have left.

Facebook: Vote out EVERY Republican that opposes TRUMP

On edit: I must say I'm tempted to join Facebook just so I can add my comments and urge this movement on. Hmm, maybe we can start an internet campaign to spread the message.
