Jaws Drop After Shocking Poll Shows Texas Is Now A Tossup State For Hillary Clinton

By Jason Easley on Tue, Oct 18th, 2016 at 1:31 pm

A SurveyMonkey/Washington Post poll of 15 battleground states has some stunning news for Republicans. Hillary Clinton is within 2 points of Donald Trump as Texas has become a tossup.
Jaws Drop After Shocking Poll Shows Texas Is Now A Tossup State For Hillary Clinton

................

Republicans are not only losing Georgia, but they are also in danger of losing deep red Texas. If Republicans lose Texas, it will represent a total Trump led collapse for the GOP. This is the second poll in four days to reveal that Hillary Clinton is within striking distance of turning Texas blue.

The overall pattern of the map is clear...........................

You took a state that has been solidly red for the past 40 years, and through your hate and racism and just generally youness, and turned it purple. Way to go. Keep up the great work. Thanks for campaigning so hard for Hillary, being the Goofus to her Gallant.

the House and their plan is to try and consolidate more state level offices as then they can gerrymander more districts and with enough gerrymandering they figure they can retake the Senate back and maybe even the Whitehouse in 4 years.
The best way we can stop them with this plan is by taking more of the state level offices from them, if we can get back control there then we pass laws tough laws to ban them from ever being able to gerrymander the districts again.

I think if HRC had spent money here earlier on, Texas would be much more in play.

Demographics in Texas are changing more rapidly than in most states. It's only a matter of time before Texas goes blue whether or not it happens in this election.

Poll: Trump & Clinton tied in Texas
KVUE 5:08 PM. CDT October 18, 2016

AUSTIN - A new poll from the University of Houston may have Texas Republicans more nervous heading into a presidential election than they have in decades.

According to the University of Houston poll, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has support from 41 percent of the state’s likely voters to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s 38 percent support in the state. Given the poll’s margin of error of +/- 3 percent, the presidential race in Texas is a statistical tie.

Past the top two candidates, the poll found that 3 percent of Texans won’t choose either Clinton or Trump and 11 percent of the voters said they still don’t know who they will vote for on Nov. 8. The high number of undecided voters leaves both candidates with plenty of work to do in the state to sure up a win.

The UH poll comes just days after TEGNA released results from its Survey USA poll in Texas that showed Trump with a four-point lead in the Lone Star State over Clinton. The TEGNA poll also was a statistical tie because it was inside the poll’s margin of error of four points.

According to the UH poll, the independent voters will make the ultimate call on Election Day. The poll found 29 percent of independent voters in Texas were still undecided .......

Trump's running a lot of ads. Scary. Ballots mailed yesterday. I still can't believe it's this close. I'll never understand it. Eight years of competence and improvement and Americans allow themselves to be conned by a scam artist.

IIRC the main reason Iowa is oddly liberal is because that demographic has remained Dem-leaning in Iowa.
