Anthony Weiner could soon be indicted in sexting scandal
Source: New York Post
Horndog ex-New York congressman Anthony Weiners seemingly uncontrollable urge to sext could soon get him indicted, as a federal grand jury mulls charges over his online encounters with an underage girl.
The grand jury is expected to begin hearing evidence about the ousted pols explicit communications with the out-of-state teen by the end of the month, a law-enforcement source told The Post on Tuesday.
Legal experts have said Weiners latest sexting scandal could get him slapped with a federal charge of sexual exploitation of children, which carries a minimum of 15 years in the slammer and a maximum of 30.

(36,281 posts)I mean, it's such a weird compulsion. Does he imagine that these exchanges are some sort of romantic pursuit? Relationship building?

(6,414 posts)I mean what he did is definitely not okay and maybe he deserves jail time, but 15 years?
I don't even like the guy, but that doesn't sound fair.

(1,803 posts)A minor. He should be in prison for a long time. I feel no sympathy for Weiner. What is sad is that he had real potential.

(20,190 posts)But I think a 15 year minimum is ridiculous considering there was no physical contact. Of course, he'll be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.
