Utah Dems hold edge in early voting as wild election heads for finish line
Source: The Salt Lake Tribune
More than half a million Utahns already have cast their ballots as of Sunday, either in person or by mail, and, at this stage, Democrats hold a turnout advantage.
Not just statewide either. In each of Utah's four congressional districts, all represented by Republicans, and in all of the state's 29 counties, the percentage of Democrats voting early tops that of Republicans.
And polling shows Democrat Hillary Clinton leading Republican Donald Trump and independent Evan McMullin among votes already cast.,
That edge may not last, of course, in this GOP-dominated state.

(1,474 posts)I would assume Utah turned out big for Mittens back in 2012. This could be indicator of a big Hillary wave in certain traditionally red states, maybe Arizona?

(34,857 posts)Utahns don't vote. I think it's a byproduct of living in such a heavily one-party state.

(53,061 posts)Trump will not win Utah and I made it before McMullen (lots of Mormon history in my family).
But I don't understand how we can have any leads, no matter how briefly in 4 Congressional Districts.
