Democrat's lead widens in North Carolina governor's race

Associated Press

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Hardly anyone in North Carolina is willing to guess when their excruciatingly close governor's race will be resolved. A Friday deadline came and went with Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper's unofficial advantage growing to about 6,600 votes over Republican Gov. Pat McCrory, from nearly 4.7 million cast.

McCrory is fighting for his political life in a battleground state that Donald Trump and Republican Sen. Richard Burr won by relatively comfortable margins.

After endless legal battles over how, when and where people can vote, they're fighting now over whether to count 60,000 provisional ballots and thousands more absentee ballots that have remained sealed since Election Day.

Still more delays are in store as McCrory's campaign supports allegations of hard-knuckled fraud lodged by voters in more than half the state's 100 counties.

then there is a presumption of voter fraud. When the U.S. monitors elections in other countries and find this situation we say that their election was rigged. Here the media barely speaks of it. Trump lost the popular vote and SHOULD HAVE LOST THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE!!!!!!!

Voters didn't cheat; the election must have been rigged at the central tabulating machines.

reporting system. The King computer pretends to be the tabulation center the states use, massage the votes to whatever you want, then the computer pretends to be the county's reporting their totals.

William Spoonamore, a Republican who works preventing credit card fraud internationally, speaks on this topic a lot and is very knowledgeable about the subject. He made the statement that it would cost about $2 million to rig the Presidential election. He says that if they are willing to spend billions on a campaign, why wouldn't they spend two to guarantee a victory in the close races?

hated in NC because he lost the state so much money and was truly despicable, more despicable than your average despicable. I heard from plenty of friends in NC that Republicans were hating him too.

What's remarkable is that this race became down to the wire.

Ironically, Repubs doing away with straight party ballot choice probably helped Cooper as well as Dems Josh Stein to win Attorney General plus Mike Morgan to win NC Supreme Court because the Repubs' own TV ads were so bad in those other races making themselves look incompetent where voters would be less likely to vote for them.

As a NC resident who has worked in many elections, I do not believe anything was rigged or that Hillary ever had a 3% lead here. Polls failed to capture the extent of registered Dems and Obama voters who were not as motivated for Hillary due to combination of racism, nativism, sexism, Evangelical religious beliefs and proliferation of social media's anti-Hillary slant- plus the high level of motivation generated by Trump causing increase in R's turnout and new registration of R's.

And pronto! Not much time left. We need to do this in all the states that mysteriously defied the polls, early voting, and exit polling.
A full audit would be even better.

That is, that they have gone thru the process to make sure they aren't second votes from someone who also voted absentee, etc. Every vote is counted. I know my county is still in process and has a meeting to further this open to the public tomorrow.

The decision to count or not count is likely to be made at the national level. While counting the votes for governor, they also have to count the votes for Hillary and trump - and that, my kiddies, may be a bit too revealing and cast doubts on the state total votes for Hillary and trump. From their point of view, it may be better to leave the 60,000 provisional ballots alone, burn them.

Thanks folks. I've been voting for while. Never gave a thought to the absentee ballots and the provisional ballots. NOW, I'm changing to count every vote. May the Official who burns anything spend time in Gitmo. From what I'm reading, you vote early at the designated site or your regular voting site OR your vote might never be counted.

Not counting absentee ballots negates all the active duty military voting. They have a say.

Right now, with Hillary's concession, I am a proud member of the loyal opposition. But, if someone or a group of someones think the count doesn't matter, it does matter. Those folks need to be put away, then lose their voting rights. Let's use a simple majority of the jury.

Now for the companies that participated in manipulation of election numbers, shut them down.
