Trump: "you will hear some things tomorrow"

President-elect Donald Trump and 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney set aside a fierce rivalry on Saturday and held talks likely to feed speculation that Romney could be in line to be the next U.S. secretary of state.
Trump also met for an hour with retired Marine General James Mattis, who is considered a strong contender for defense secretary or another high-ranking job.
After a day of meetings, Trump emerged to tell reporters that his search process was going "really efficiently" and that he had spoken to "really, really talented" people who could form part of his Cabinet. Asked if Mattis would be his defense secretary, Trump said, "He's a great guy. He is some great man."
Trump said he might have some announcements on Sunday.

Romney is just a phony with no convictions, he doesn't worry me as much but will go along with whatever to remain relevant.

James Mattis may have the inside track to become U.S. defense secretary after President-elect Donald Trump gave the retired U.S. Marine Corps general a big thumbs-up for a second day, while Mitt Romney is under active consideration to be the nations top diplomat.
General James Mad Dog Mattis, who is being considered for Secretary of Defense, was very impressive yesterday. A true Generals General! Trump said early Sunday on Twitter.

(56,582 posts)I mean, I never met him or anything, but he commanded 1st Marine Division, of which I was a member, when Iraq started. He was one of the few General officers who said anything at all at the time about needing to plan for Phase IV, i.e. the occupation. Like I said: at least he's sane.
