Fighting Intensifies Between India and Pakistan in Kashmir

Source: The New York Times

NEW DELHI — Firing intensified Wednesday on the de facto border between India and Pakistan, a day after the Indian Army promised retribution for what it said was the killing of three of its soldiers.

Pakistan said Indian fire had struck a passenger bus in the Neelam Valley on Pakistan’s side of the Line of Control in the disputed Kashmir region, killing seven civilians and wounding seven others. Indian fire also killed three Pakistani soldiers, including a captain, Pakistan said, and it retaliated, killing seven Indian soldiers.

India defended its actions.

“It was a proper fire assault from our side as a retribution of yesterday’s incident,” said Brig. P. S. Gotra of the Indian Army’s northern command, which includes the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir. He denied that any Indian soldiers had been killed in the firing on Wednesday.

Do they assume it and push harder than they otherwise would? Does Pakistan assume it and act pre-emptively? Just a few questions.

"That's a tough one. I love curry, but I also really like those Kashmir sweaters. They're both kind of brownish, right, so Bannon won't be any help. Let me get back to you."

But I believe we will see an increase in old and new conflicts around the world now, even if they are not stoked at all by Trump/American actions.

I think many States will be emboldened by Trumps win, Russian not the least. And will know that to Trump, if it doesn't personally affect his family fortunes, then he's not going to even be bothered to tweet about it. Which is saying a lot.

And more than that, I think this new negativity, this depression of liberalism, and exaltation of conservatism and militarism, us vs them mentality will hang over the planet in a spiritual sense, and stoke anger and prejudice around the world.

India was amassing troops along the Pakistan frontier for a while.

All due to the 3 of their soldiers being killed.

This won't be a full blown war.

India uses a plan called Cold Start.

Here is an article that explains it better than I ever could...
