Board of Canvassers certifies Trump victory in Michigan

Source: Detroit Free Press

LANSING — The Michigan Board of Canvassers with a 4-0 vote certified the state's election results Monday afternoon, showing Republican Donald Trump won the presidential race by a 10,704-vote margin over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The Board of Canvassers' certification – which show Republican Donald Trump with a 10,704 vote lead over Democrat Hillary Clinton – makes the election results official, but it also starts the 48-hour clock for Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, who has raised more than $6.5 million to pay for recounts in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. It won’t be cheap and it will be a monumental task for the Secretary of State and 83 county clerks around the state.

She has already filed the recount requests for Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and Mark Brewer, former chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party and lawyer for Stein, told the Board of Canvassers that he intends to file a recount request for Stein.

Well hopefully we can continue the recounts. I'd be elated if they found some major discrepancy. YOHABLO Nov 2016 #10

Green Party candidate Jill Stein is expected to ask for a recount. She has until Wednesday. Trump would have seven days to file objections to her request.

While I'm very happy that a recount/audit (whatever) is underway in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and hopefully Michigan, I'm feeling like it's really a lost cause.

Why? Trump said it was crooked, they should investigate instead of
certifying the results. That is really fucked up.

If all else fails Trump will inevitably trip over himself at some point and we could be rid of him. But then there is Field Marshall Pence to deal with. It's going to be a a very tough 4 years.
