Source: NBC
Once Avila dropped them off at the hotel, he called the police.
"The worst thing I thought would happen when driving Uber is that I would be getting drunk passengers and I would have to handle them," Avila, 34, who is also a quinceañera photographer, told NBC Latino. "All my life, I thought about people throwing up in the car as the worst scenario."
Avila started streaming to Facebook LIVE once the police arrived. His reaction to breaking up a child sex trafficking ring had been viewed more than 119,000 times as of Thursday afternoon

(1,204 posts)I always roll my eyes whenever people say stupid stuff like that, no matter where they fall politically. It's just weird how some people view the world.

(45,615 posts)he did the right thing getting involved and calling the police when many others would have not or been afraid to do so. Good for him.
I'd like to think we'd all do the right thing in such circumstances.

(2,759 posts)He says in the video that a Hillary supporter probably wouldn't have helped and that Trump supporters don't play, meaning ithet take action. He's wrong about that - I believe a Democrat would be more likely than a Republican to help - but still a good man obviously.

Good luck. Bias and implication can often weigh us down when trying to keep up.

(37,748 posts)I suppose it must be odd to see others take nuance and context into account. It can be a difficult concept to wrap one's head around when we apply and blame one sentiment to and on an entire demographic.
Thankfully, only "they" do that, as your own post merely looks as though it's guilty of its own indictment... but that can be easily justified if we think creatively.

(58,724 posts)I think nuance and context are actually what are sadly often missing here.
My assertion is that there are some non-hateful people who voted for Trump. I think we ought to at least acknowledge that those people are out there.

(1,204 posts)there is something about him that rubs me the wrong way. That was even before he brought his nonsensical political statement into the mix. I dunno, I guess I just don't understand people who lack any sort of ability to be humble. And yeah, I get that's probably a personal problem on my end that I need to deal with.
