Perez wants in-house cybersecurity expert at DNC

Source: The Hill

Labor Secretary Tom Perez wants the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to have an in-house chief cybersecurity officer.

“I think this office should report directly to the chair," Perez, a top candidate to become the next chairman of the DNC, told Politico on Wednesday.

"And, among other responsibilities, have them proactively monitor the DNC for attacks and breaches."

Perez added he thinks it's equally important to make sure the chief cybersecurity officer works with all of the committee's state partners.

The GOP should probably have one as well. Not my party, but I'd rather foreign entities didn't have blackmail material on those idiots either. This isn't a game and we don't need people screwing with the country. Honestly, every federal organization and business with anything of interest should have cyber security expert(s) on hand.

Whether they go all in-house or have an outside company handle it, they still need some in-house experts to at least oversee those operations.

is.. it's good to hear him say.

Latinos like him, too.. So do the Fire Fighters UFCW, and the UFW..

In the meantime Tom Perez is also getting important Latino support.

The Latino Victory Fund are supporting his bid for the DNC chair, and I would urge everyone to read an excellent article written by Victoria DeFrancesco Soto over at NBC Latino
