Three leading House Democrats are demanding that state election officials hand over cases of voter fraud, hoping to put to rest President Trumps ongoing claims that millions of people voted illegally in 2016.
In a letter sent to chief election officials and attorneys general in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, Reps. Elijah Cummings (Md.), Robert Brady (Penn.) and James Clyburn (S.C.) requested the names, locations and dates for any individual who illegally cast a ballot in the November election.
President Trump wants a major investigation of voter fraud well now he has one, Cummings said in a statement. He continues to be obsessed with false numbers and statistics, but these are not alternative facts, and there is no evidence to support these claims.
What is a fact is that Republicans in statehouses across America have passed restrictive laws that impair the ability of legitimate voters to participate, and they use the myth of voter fraud to justify their abuses, he added.

(70,178 posts)both on in the congress, but also in the party. put it on the front page for long enough, and maybe these laws will finally be struck down. and maybe, just maybe, shit like crosscheck, and lost dmv forms, and all the rest of the shady bullshit gets bleached out in the sun.
while you are at it guys, make them show you the provisional ballots. whether their votes counted or not, this is where those practices lead. follow it.

A woman in Iowa was arrested this week on suspicion of voting twice in the general election, court and police records show.
Terri Lynn Rote, a 55-year-old Des Moines resident, was booked Thursday on a first-degree charge of election misconduct, according to Polk County Jail records. The charge is considered a Class D felony under Iowa state law.
Rote was released Friday after posting $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 7.
The Des Moines Register reported that Rote is a registered Republican who cast two ballots in the general election: an early-voting ballot at the Polk County Election Office and another at a county satellite voting location, according to police records.
