Senator Chris Murphy Posts Photo of Dead Syrian Boy to Blast Trump Exec Order

Source: Mediaite

by Josh Feldman | 4:32 pm, January 28th, 2017

Senator Chris Murphy reacted to President Trump‘s immigration order banning Syrian refugees from entry into the U.S. by shaming his colleagues in Congress with a photo of a dead Syrian child:

Chris Murphy
?@ChrisMurphyCT

To my colleagues: don't ever again lecture me on American moral leadership if you chose to be silent today.

That picture tweeted is of Alan Kurdi, a 3-year-old Syrian boy who drowned when his parents were trying to flee the country.

Murphy got some criticism on Twitter for posting that photo, along with some people pointing out that Kurdi died in 2015 when Barack Obama was still president.

That he died under Obama don't even get the point of the post and again proves their ignorance and blind followership.

18,000 Syrian refugees were admitted into the United States. He wanted to do more, but again he was blocked by the ReThugs. I wish Obama had made an even stronger case but he was fighting for gains in so many areas that I understand it wasn't a "hill that he wished to die on," so to speak.

deck them. Since evangelical fundamentalism took over 40 years ago, any true Christ-like values have been trampled to dust.

people getting caught up in a situation out of their control

Bravo Senator Murphy, and shame on those who tried to distract from the issue.

As an aside, many of those republicans were all for the Syrian bombing. In fact John McCain even did a photo op with the rebel leaders, so yes, Senator Murphy's assessment,:

"To my colleagues: don't ever again lecture me on American moral leadership if you chose to be silent today."

is right on

They are only "pro life" for certain people, the rest they don't care about and would just as soon see them die.

and then got away with it.

Congress is complicit when it is silent and refuses to stop what is happening.

But Congress, far too many of them, doesn't seem to mind being complicit in atrocities.

Trump saw what Shrub was allowed to get way with, so he knows how far he can go, and he will...and he'll even go for more.
