Trump blames protesters and Delta computer outage for mass chaos at airports triggered by Muslim ban

Chaos erupted over the weekend at major airports across America after President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday night that barred citizens from seven different Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.

Trump took to Twitter on Monday morning to let America know that all of the disruptions they saw at airports for the past couple of days were not his fault.

“Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage, protesters and the tears of Senator Schumer,” Trump wrote. “Secretary Kelly said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.”

Trump then went on to explain that there is “nothing nice about searching for terrorists before they can enter our country,” and he pointed out that this was a major issue that he campaigned on.

Once again, the basic chronological sequence rule as applied to cause and effect is upended in a single Tweet.

He does realize the protesters were there because of the the EO, right? Are we sure this isn't from the Onion? It's getting harder and harder to distinguish realty from satire with these people.

You're absolutely right, it's a recurring meme at Breitbart.

Trump says his order didn't cause weekend airport chaos

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday denied his immigration order was to blame for the chaos at the nation's airports over the weekend, instead pointing to computer glitches, protesters and even the "tears of Senator Schumer."

Trump's business announcement came as protests continued around the country over his immigration order. Early Monday, he took to Twitter to defend the move, saying that only 109 out of 325,000 people "were detained and held for questioning." Trump also said swift action was important, noting that there are a "lot of bad 'dudes' out there."

Trump's order temporarily suspends all immigration for citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries for 90 days.

Democratic New York Sen. Schumer choked up over the weekend while talking about the repercussions from the ban, but that brought scorn from Trump.
