Former WA State GOP Chair: Republicans Should Be Ashamed

Source: KOMO News

SEATTLE -- Reaction to the President Trump's orders on immigration have been full of fierce resistance -- including from within his own party. Chris Vance tried -- unsuccessfully -- to unseat Sen. Patty Murray in the November election, but he is most well-known for being the former chairman of the state Republican Party.

And he says the GOP is running scared.

"There are a lot of Republican politicians that are afraid of losing Trump voters." Vance said. "This is not about politics. This is about good and evil, right and wrong, our constitution, our values and who we are." Vance goes on to say that Republicans who are remaining silent "should be ashamed of themselves." His comments have made Vance persona-non-grata with his former colleagues.

"I find myself in a very weird position," he says, "but you’ve got to put your country first, and party is way down the list after that."
Vance then went and joined a large protest that had gathered in opposition of the Trump's executive order Sunday night at Seattle's Westlake Center.

...once a republican in this state leans liberal on any issue the teabaggers abandon them, and they still lose.

The last two republican candidates for Governor in Washington State tried to run without saying anything, or taking a stand on any issue. lol That doesn't seem to work either.

Cathy McMorris Rogers really needs to go already. That use to be a solid blue seat years ago.

We also need to help all those agricultural folks in the middle understand that Trumps new plans for trade are going to hit them hard in the wallet. We send a lot of those apples overseas. Their Republican representatives in Congress aren't going to do a damn thing to help their pocketbooks.

Dave Reichert is also someone who I would love to push out as well. Those Mercer Island Millionaires need to be called accountable for their vote for him. I think a little public shaming could go a long way in turning that spot blue as well.

...we have three seats in this state that are essentially swing/leans republican: Rogers, Reichart (my rep) and Herrera in Vancouver. With the right issue the republicans could lose all three of those. Trying to privatize Medicare or the VA just might do it.

to begin.
They're the minority party but they control state legislatures and the federal.
I'm for sure not sorry when one of them steps out of the chorus line.

For republicans, the ends justify the means.

Morality is a relative concept and it is framed by this edict.

Party loyalty and power always come before the common good for the nation.

That is why the Russian hacking of the DNC and their "fake news" was welcomed
and encouraged by republicans and Trump, rather than admonished.

This is their hierarchy of priorities and values, as I see it:

1) Money Money Money
2) Power/Dominance
3) Party/Ideology
4) God (their perverted, twisted, self-serving form of god)
5) Country (the conservative parts of it)
...
...

267) Humanity, justice, and democracy

30 years ago he was my representative in the state house. One Sunday afternoon he was door-belling through our neighborhood and my dog chased him down the street while I leaned out the door and yelled "Sic balls, chopper!" lol

WTF has the world come to that a guy like Chris Vance is now one of the sane republicans?
