Source: Associated Press

MONDAY, JAN 30, 2017 02:45 PM EST

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says Iran has conducted a ballistic missile test and the U.S. is studying the details.

Press secretary Sean Spicer says he does not yet know the “exact nature” of the test and expects to have more information later.

Iran is the subject of United Nations Security Council resolutions prohibiting tests of ballistic missiles designed to deliver a nuclear warhead.

But unlike 2002-2003, we have an executive branch scrambling to claim credibility.

Because they have no boundaries, no limits, no moral compass. They will say or do anything to further their goals.

You know Manos Diminutos and his merry band of Russian double agents would LOVE to start a war against Iran. They have Muslims to kill and oil to grab - the perfect casus belli for Trump. The only way they can keep Trump from attacking their country is to come up with a weapon that can hit Israel and use the threat of Israel's imminent fiery demise to keep Trump away.

Unfortunately or fortunately trump cannot attack Iran as it is under Russia's protection. In any case Iran is not Iraq and attacking it will make Iraq war seem like kid's birthday party

It is hard to see how Iran could have hidden this development.

I smell another Gulf of Tonkin type resolution coming up - again based on a false report. BEWARE!

There needs to be some flimsy pretense for Trump to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.

I'm just surprised that this "news" from the White House didn't come out on the 21st.

By open source -- like Tomnod satellite observation. There's no place in Iran distant enough from other places with observers where it could be tested -- Iran isn't Australia. The seismic monitors haven't picked anything up -- and the seismic monitors do notice tests. The Israelis would be climbing down the UN's throat -- they're not. And even if they did notice, they decided they're not sharing intelligence anymore.

So... not without proof.

Just an excuse for these cretins to get rid of the agreement. Well, I see this was not a nuclear missile, so it doesn't violate the agreement anyway, if true. I still doubt it, because it sounds like the sort of info this WH would leak to gin up another war.
