Mainers tend to be pretty independent and open to hearing all sides of an issue before they decide. That's what she does and that's what those who elect her expect her to do. That's why she's very popular in Maine. She will hear the other side out and speak up when something is really wrong.

I guess I just keep hoping that some members of the GOP are Americans First, and care about what is right and have integrity.

She's very popular in Maine. She sometimes is prone to giving too much benefit of the doubt and giving people who don't deserve it a chance to do the right thing. But when push comes to shove and it really, really counts, she always steps up as a voice of reason.

She says stuff to make people believe she can be reasoned with but ALWAYS votes with the republicans. ALWAYS. Don't even bother listening to her.

Occasionally tapping noises indicate that she's about to break out, and get all "independent" on us.

And then, once the crisis passes, she glues the shell back into place, and goes back to sleep, and Democrats act all disappointed.
