Israeli Officials Are Worried That Trump Will Actually Move The US Embassy To Jerusalem

Source: Buzzfeed

WASHINGTON — King Abdullah of Jordan Tuesday told members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee that Israeli intelligence officials are worried that Trump will move forward with relocating the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

According to a lawmaker present at the meeting, who asked not to be named, King Abdullah said that Israeli officials are concerned that moving the embassy would “enflame tensions among radical groups.” Jordan’s Information Minister Mohammed Momani, has also called the move a “red line” for Jordan that would “inflame the Islamic and Arab streets” and serve as a “gift to extremists.”

“This has been a hypothetical for a long time and we prefer it stay that way,” said one Israeli intelligence officer, who spoke with BuzzFeed News earlier this month. “Moving the US Embassy is something which gains us little and which could, potentially, inflame tensions.”

The intelligence officer said that if the Trump made a big show out of moving the US Embassy it would almost certainly “end in unnecessary violence.”

1. One would think there would be bigger issues of concern on "Islamic and Arab streets"

Than where the US locates its Israeli embassy.

Leadership in those middle eastern countries are good at redirecting the focus of their populations away from their own corruption.

Similar to what Trump is trying to do.

Diplomatic posturing is a subtle language filled with studied statements. I'm not surprised anyone lacking that relevant insight would trivialize the concern as a mere distraction.

Israel is distracting from (we'll let alone bibi had nothing to do with this article for the moment)? Being as they actually DO have elections in Israel, their people are quite capable of changing their government if they wish to. Let's remember it's been quite some time since the Palestinians have had an election for either of their governments. They keep getting delayed indefinitely but I guess it's considered bad form to remind people here of that.

Not sure about any of the ones that would help people though. Those are on the back burner right now apparently.

that has already brought in over a million refugees from Syria without making a huge deal about it. But make no mistake, he keeps his people in line with brutality if they speak out.

He wants a war so he can really gear up the crackdown on brown people that he's already started. he calls the bomber in Quebec proof that the ban is needed from the 7 countries, only the guy doesn't come from them and is a Canadian citizen and white. It doesn't matter, he lies and twists to make it seem differently and to try and scare more people into compliance with his Hitlerian polcies.

He's determined to destroy our country and change us to Trumpland or 4th Reich after his hero, Hitler.
