It is a complete white-washing, and from a network that had some serious representation going on for awhile. :/

(129,386 posts)Only thing that might help keep him there is the fact that he is a (real) meteorologist. I wouldn't be surprised if they relegate him to just doing that during the 4 hours of the Today Show. Alternately, since Comcast/NBC-Universal bought The Weather Channel, they could shove him over there. And given that TWC was dropped from some services, that would "disappear" him.
I never really watched or got into the habit of watching morning network television as an adult unless there was some catastrophe going on and they were broadcasting it or it was on while I was waiting for my car to get serviced. If I did have the TV on in the morning (when not at work), I watched CSPAN's morning programs (before Congress graveled into session).

Her last day on both networks was Tuesday. Her contract with NBC News expires this month.
"The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and Im grateful," Hall said in a statement. "Im also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.

(129,386 posts)I lost track of where/when they moved her on MSNBC. I think she was on at 2pm when they booted Joy out of that slot a while ago (afterwhich Joy eventually resurfaced on weekends). Then they rejiggered everyone all around Mourning Joke and Andrea Greenspan. Used to be Schmuck Toad in the morning (maybe it still is) but then I think they created a show with Halperin and someone else in one of the morning slots. It became such a mess that even our (liberal) office gave up and decided to move to CNN for the office TV.

Tamron Hall is leaving NBC News and MSNBC when her contract expires this month, the network announced Wednesday.
Yesterday was her last day as an anchor on both networks, reads a statement from NBC News. Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay. We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.
The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and Im grateful, Hall, 46, said in a statement released via the network. Im also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.
A source familiar with the situation tells PEOPLE that Hall was offered a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract to remain with the network but chose to leave.

I hope OWN offers something to Tamron as I enjoy her reporting. She has a good sense of humor and is the perfect upbeat presence for mornings.
She is also a good crime reporter.
She's so talented that I'm not too worried about her. She'll end up in a good position.

(35,716 posts)COMCAST.
Years ago, when Comcast bought NBC, I had a student in my class who worked in the administrative offices of NBC. I asked the student to keep me informed on what kinds of changes she would be seeing.
The student did so, and over the semester, she told me the atmosphere went from a nice, friendly family-type atmosphere to one dominated by fear and a lack of communication with employees.
That is because the family that runs Comcast is inherently a ruthless, capitalist family. They know they're the most hated company in America, and they are trying hard to change that with their customer service. I have experienced better customer service in the last two years. However, they are at their very heart, crummy people and thus you will continue to see these kinds of decisions.
They'd better not touch Lester Holt.

She also had another Emmy nomination for her segment called "Education Nation: Teacher Town Hall" in 2011. Tamron has also been featured in several major news publications, including ones by Ebony Magazine, Forbes, Huffington Post, and several others She won an Edward R. So take that "dippy-girl schtick" and step off Tamron. And better yet, why are you cheerleading the same Woman that blamed Trayvon Martin for this own death?
Wow, she said in response to the reaction of the teens father, Tracy Martin, to George Zimmermans not guilty verdict. They prosecuted him. Those prosecutors did their level best but they didnt prove their case. I mean the jury saw it differently.
Its also worth nothing that her show was one of the platforms employed by Zimmermans attorney, Mark OMara, to perpetuate the notion that the slain teen was a violent thug.
