Tamron Hall to Leave NBC News

Tamron Hall, an anchor best known for her time on MSNBC and the 9 a.m. hour of “Today,” will leave NBC News, which recently announced plans to accommodate a new morning program featuring Megyn Kelly.

my Mom was complaining about the MSNBC shake-up and said Hall was one of the only folks left in the morning hours she had the stomach to watch. She's gonna LOVE to hear this.
It is a complete white-washing, and from a network that had some serious representation going on for awhile. :/
devoted fan, but I don't know what her ratings are like. They won't keep you on air if you can't pull in ratings.
I have no reason to ever tune in to MSNBC ever again.
...much better than Meghan. Greta is the pits and Rachel being so chummy with her is incomprehensible. CNN is improving and has the bonus of a Kellyanne boycott.
I really liked her.
Wonder where she will end up? I will surely follow.
Looking more and more like I will have to look for other morning 'news' shows to watch.
Remember RACHEL was a Republican before she ever was a Democrat and remember the color of money bills are always GREEN.
So, yes, Rachel will be Raa-Raa Megyn cause a girl gotta eat, you know...
Only thing that might help keep him there is the fact that he is a (real) meteorologist. I wouldn't be surprised if they relegate him to just doing that during the 4 hours of the Today Show. Alternately, since Comcast/NBC-Universal bought The Weather Channel, they could shove him over there. And given that TWC was dropped from some services, that would "disappear" him. 
I never really watched or got into the habit of watching morning network television as an adult unless there was some catastrophe going on and they were broadcasting it or it was on while I was waiting for my car to get serviced. If I did have the TV on in the morning (when not at work), I watched CSPAN's morning programs (before Congress graveled into session).
I lost track of where/when they moved her on MSNBC. I think she was on at 2pm when they booted Joy out of that slot a while ago (afterwhich Joy eventually resurfaced on weekends). Then they rejiggered everyone all around Mourning Joke and Andrea Greenspan. Used to be Schmuck Toad in the morning (maybe it still is) but then I think they created a show with Halperin and someone else in one of the morning slots. It became such a mess that even our (liberal) office gave up and decided to move to CNN for the office TV.
but then might see Tamron but didn't remember what time... and only if the TV in the office was on the channel. It has just been so disheartening what they did with the lineup.

Oddly enough, when they finally torpedoed David Gregory, he ran over to CNN.
I am thinking if they bring any more Faux castoffs over, Lawrence will probably be the next to go.
on 60 Minutes. Yes, she is a contributor now. Speculation is that CBS put her on to offset Kelly in the ratings. Kelly will be hosting her own news magazine up against 60 Minutes.
I hope OWN offers something to Tamron as I enjoy her reporting. She has a good sense of humor and is the perfect upbeat presence for mornings.
She is also a good crime reporter.
She's so talented that I'm not too worried about her. She'll end up in a good position.

COMCAST.
Years ago, when Comcast bought NBC, I had a student in my class who worked in the administrative offices of NBC. I asked the student to keep me informed on what kinds of changes she would be seeing.
The student did so, and over the semester, she told me the atmosphere went from a nice, friendly family-type atmosphere to one dominated by fear and a lack of communication with employees.
That is because the family that runs Comcast is inherently a ruthless, capitalist family. They know they're the most hated company in America, and they are trying hard to change that with their customer service. I have experienced better customer service in the last two years. However, they are at their very heart, crummy people and thus you will continue to see these kinds of decisions.
They'd better not touch Lester Holt.

A source familiar with the situation tells PEOPLE that Hall was offered a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract to remain with the network but chose to leave.

They're making it sound like her departure was her choice. Maybe she can't stand Kelly?
Either way, I'll miss her.

She also had another Emmy nomination for her segment called "Education Nation: Teacher Town Hall" in 2011. Tamron has also been featured in several major news publications, including ones by Ebony Magazine, Forbes, Huffington Post, and several others She won an Edward R. Murrow Award for her report on domestic abuse in 2016.
