Hundreds of people gathered in suburban Palatine to protest Rep. Peter Roskam on Saturday morning.

Roskam, a Republican who has represented the 6th Congressional District since 2007, was attending the Palatine Township Republican Organization's monthly meeting at the organization's headquarters at 9 a.m.

Demonstrators carried signs with messages on a variety of issues, with many expressing frustration at being unable to meet with Roskam, whose district includes portions of Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties.

The protest came just days after members of Roskam's staff reportedly canceled a meeting with a group of 16 constituents upon realizing a reporter was present, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Roskam later told the Tribune that the meeting, over concerns about a possible repeal of the Affordable Care Act, would be rescheduled without the reporter. .....................

Make them fearful and nervous. And work to find a Democratic candidate who can beat him in 2018.

Locking the doors of their offices, canceling time for the people that voted these cretins into office....LOL...Run Forest Run...

This is the moment that the Democrats can grab hold of and start putting in place to run for Congress in two years.

It was simply amazing because two days prior only 13 people replied that they were coming. The GOP spokesperson prior to the day told reporters he only expected three protesters. Man was scared @#$tless calling the cops for backup as more and more people trickled in. People in cars honked in support. Someone pulled over and handed me a box of doughnuts. People gave us boxes of coffee. It was amazing how the word got out so quickly. More amazing because the GOPers in the meeting were donors and they don't like protests. Peter entered and exited through the back door as we shouted "Back door Peter!!"

We protested because Roskum tows the party line and won't talk to us-ever. He has robocall "town meetings" that he controls. So the party line loyalty might be his undoing. The Democratic Party has always blown off this congressional district. The 2016 candidate couldn't even have a decent mailing. But the national DCCC will be sending in help because Hillary actually won the district. They need a professional in there to run the campaign. They had a very sharp candidate but even lacked money to run a poll. Rumor has it that she may run again. If you can't run a poll, you don't get money from the state or national party, you're really in a pickle. So maybe we can turn this district. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!
