Mitch McConnell Sees High Level of Satisfaction With Trump Administration

Source: NY Times

WASHINGTON — Although there is plenty of anxiety in Washington about the shaky early performance of the Trump administration, don’t count Senator Mitch McConnell among the hand wringers.

Mr. McConnell, a Kentucky Republican and the majority leader, says he and his Senate Republican colleagues are quite satisfied with the Trump team so far. In fact, he said, they are reassured by signs that President Trump is going to hew to a conservative agenda after early fears that the president — a relatively unknown quantity to most elected Republicans — might not really be one of them.

“The country doesn’t need saving,” Mr. McConnell said when asked during an interview in his Capitol office if there was any cause for a senior-level congressional intervention given early chaos in the evolving West Wing.

“I think there is a high level of satisfaction with the new administration,” he said, dismissing concerns about dissonant eruptions from the new president and some of his top staff members. “Our members are not obsessed with the daily tweets, but are looking at the results.”

Lest anyone think that there is significant difference between Trump and "mainstream" Republicans.

And then, they'll go after "Pagans", Secularists and then target the Jews.

And then, they'll start going after each other for being "Ungodly" and encouraging God's displeasure.
First, hard-liners against the "charitable" and peaceful Christians within the various Christian sects.
Then Calvinists against Methodists. Baptists against Catholics. Presbyterians against Mormons. And Episcopalians holding the line against Store-front Evangelicals.

All with the rallying cry - "There Can Be Only One!" while cousin harasses, bullies, and imprisons cousin because they just won't fall in line and do what the Dear Leader de jour says.

Me, I think so called "True Christians" and God Warriors are really followers of a weak hand-made copy of a demi-God that resides in the back of their brains. Certainly a diety that created the entire, diverse, and unpredictable universe does not need any protection or appeasement.

of the strong, "mutually satisfactory" philosophical and political connection between Trump and congressional Republicans. Congress is not only an abettor of Trump, but also an initiator of many of the policies that voters are soon going to hate (repeal of ObamaCare), if they don't already.
