Christie tapped as keynote speaker for Republican convention

Source: MSNBC News

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will deliver the keynote address at next month's Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL.

NBC News' Jamie Gangel reported Wednesday that Christie would be afforded the plum speaking slot at the convention, a gig that sometimes serves as a launching pad for political figures with ambitions of higher office.

The selection of Christie, though, would seem to suggest that Christie is not likely the choice by Mitt Romney to serve as the GOP's vice presidential nominee. Typically, the keynote speaker is separate from the vice presidential nominee, who, like the presidential nominee, speaks on separate nights.

Republicans have not yet released a detailed itinerary of the speaking schedule for their convention.

I think by the time the convention rolls around Christie might very well be
the de-facto nominee and Mitt will have dropped out.

and no, douchebag is not sexist in this instance, as many of these people proudly consider douchebag a compliment and a lifestyle, as shown on all the cable "New jersey" shows.

very well-vetted, well-fed Governor!

Will they serve Pizza while he speaks, or after?

The most disrespectful man in state politics, bar none, nationwide! HE? is the speaker for the Rethuglicans?

I have to wash my hair that night, I won't watch a minute of RNC, not a minute.

Let's all store up movies on Netflix or our DVR's to watch those nights of the convention. Not a single one of us can watch this live, unless....

Maybe he'll have a heart attack right in the middle of the speech.

I can wish, can't I?

He will only have access to decent pizza if he takes the Trolley to nearby Ybor City. There are places I could recommend, but frankly, I do not think he deserves real pizza, considering what he did to a state like Jersey that was known for good pizza before it got ruined.

Pizza, especially good NJ/NYC pizza, is a working class, Blue collar food, let Christie choke on the awful catering Tampa Bay is known for, where they will try to put Mayonnaise and caviar on Sushi and call it sophisticated. Knowing the local mindset, the Hooters restaurant in the nearby district known as Channelside will probably be GOP central, as well as the nearby cigar bar, LIT, where people brag about the fact they pay 100 dollars for a cigar to go with their grey goose martini.

Pray for me down here, if you are atheists, I will accept well wishes, anything for me to survive the sheer GOP hell on earth my city will be that week.

That would provide a suitable statement for the rest of the convention.

It would be his Mr. Creosote moment.
