Bachmann under fire from more Republicans

Source: CBS

CBS News) Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann continues to draw fire for charging that a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has ties to Muslim extremists. The criticism is coming from Republican lawmakers as well as Democrats and includes a scathing response from her own former presidential campaign chief, Ed Rollins.

¬snip¬

Having worked for Congressman Bachmann's campaign for president, I am fully aware that she sometimes has difficulty with her facts, but this is downright vicious and reaches the late Senator Joe McCarthy level," he wrote, referencing McCarthy's false charges from the 1950's that Communists and Soviet spies had infiltrated the State Department.

¬snip¬

GOP Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts wrote on Twitter, "Rep. Bachmann's accusations about Sec. Clinton aide Huma Abedin are out-of-line. This kind of rhetoric has no place in our public discourse."

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, meanwhile, told Politico the attacks were "ridiculous." Abedin, he said, "is about as far away from the Muslim Brotherhood view of women and ideology as you possibly could get. She's a very modern woman in every sense of the word, and people who say these things are really doing her a disservice because they don't know what they're talking about, and I don't know what their motivations are, but clearly it says more about them than it does her."

last more than a week on daily TV.

She blew a major fuse on Hardball and was looking under the bed for commie/democrat hordes. Even Tweety was making sport of her ravings.

I guess, if a FOX-like nutwork wanted ravings, instead of ratings, Sister Michelle the commie catcher would be a prize boob.

Edit...I think she'd make Magic Mitt a great running mate.

Plus, her district has changed. She no longer lives in the district due to borders changing. She can run in her old district, though, and has said she will. Will probably hurt her chances, not living in the district.

I don't think it rises to the legal definition of sedition
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedition

What I think she's guilty of, besides being a RW lunatic, is defamation of character, and libel, and should have her ass sued off, be censured in the House and investigated my the ethics committee and remove from any committees she belongs to.
She's not actually encouraging rebellion against the government in power, she's calling for an investigation, which, in my view, smacks of McCarthyism which is abhorrent.
She's seems to be skirting on the edge but is careful not to go over the edge.
Please don't mistake me for defending this lunatic disguised as a human.

He painted an 8 ft tall mural of an aborted fetus on the side of his barn with the title "CHOOSE LIFE" facing a main paved road in the area.

He and his wife can't have biological children of their own, but refused to adopt because they might get "stuck" with a non-white baby.

He brags about sleeping with a loaded .44 Mag under his bed because he's afraid "n****rs from the Twin Cities" are going to drive the 100 mile drive to rob him on his hog farm.

He bitches nonstop about welfare queens, while he's collected hundreds of thousands of dollars in government subsidies and crop payments over the past decade, so much so that he built himself a new house and bought a brand-new truck.

Yeah, Christmas is a lot of fun.

Fri Jul 20, 2012, 08:09 PM
Jul 2012

The Republican Party establishment realizes that between Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Gingrich and Santorum and all their nutty supporters sitting in the audience - the Party was disgraced, shamed and embarrassed in front of the entire world. They realized now that this utterly diminished their credibility and has the potential to leave permanent damage that could potentially make them completely unelectable on the national level. Piling on Bachmann is a lot easier than fighting the entire base - most of of whom are just as loony as her.
