Senators advised House vote on healthcare unlikely before Monday: aide

U.S. senators have been informed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that a vote on a Republican repeal and replacement of Obamacare might not be held in the House of Representatives before Monday, according to a senior Senate aide.

The House had hoped to vote on Thursday on the controversial measure, but has lacked the votes for passage.

Meanwhile, another aide said House leaders might still try to schedule a House floor vote very early Friday. House Republicans are scheduled to meet in a closed-door meeting at 7 p.m. (2300 GMT) to assess the situation, according to an aide.

they pass a Health Care package that provides better insurance for more people at a lower cost than ACA.. and we know the GOP aint a happening that! ,,, so i say,,,, strut like a cock and rub their noses in their own dooky

...they can make it palatable for the "go somewhere and die. I got mine" caucus is to repeal ACA and replace it with........nada. They want pre-ACA awfulness, or nothing at all.

...but it looks like the Don't Care Act is just about to flat line. The nut job caucus only wants repeal, period. They don't want ACA replaced with anything. I suppose they could cut the Don't Care Act down to about 30 blank pages and say they replaced. Other than that, they've got no way forward short of going all Vlad Putin and threatening certain Congress Critter's lives if they don't vote yes.
