SENTENCED TO JAIL, CHRISTIE AIDE SAYS SHE WON'T BE SCAPEGOAT

Source: Associated Press

Mar 30, 12:06 AM EDT

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Two former aides to New Jersey's governor have been sentenced to jail for creating traffic jams at the busiest bridge in the United States for political revenge, bringing the case to a close.

But appeals and a pledge from one of them that the fight isn't over promise to keep the George Washington Bridge lane-closing scandal hanging over Republican Gov. Chris Christie's final year in office.

Bridget Kelly told reporters after she was sentenced to 18 months in prison Wednesday that she won't be a scapegoat.

Her attorney pointed out that her testimony that she told Christie about the traffic jams while they were happening was never contradicted.

There were two investigations. One by New Jersey Democrats in the state legislature and another by the U.S. Attorney (under Obama's DOJ and directly appointed by Obama) for New Jersey. Neither investigation uncovered any evidence Christie gave any orders or knew the traffic issues were due to politics.

power at least fairly often had their careers ruined for misusing it, and went to jail when appropriate--enough to be a deterrent. Like it is in some governments.

This abuser doesn't sound at all repentant, just angry that consequences are so "unfair."

That's why all those pictures of trump with a silent sadface Christie standing behind his right shoulder. the beaten puppy dog look.

Plus a "Christie live prop" made trump look taller & thinner in many campaign photos. Image is very important to people like trump.

I'm guessing she's a conservative. If that's the case, my heart doesn't go out to her.
But how the hell can Christie live with himself knowing people are doing jail time for his own bull shit?

I laughed at that thought of him becoming president of the U.S. But after seeing Trump get placement, Christie now looks like he was a real threat. And I imagine he is also hooked up with Russian mafia types.

After hurricane Sandy. Then when republicans yelled at him for refusing to all but physically spit into Obama's face (helping his image among centrists in the 2012 election), Christie basically replied with a "fuck you Fox, my state is underwater, Obama was super helpful, eat my ass".

Apparently she never saw the movie The American President, where Michael J. Fox as Chief of Staff tells Michael Douglas, the President that he won't do anything illegal because "Say what you want. It's always the guy in my job that ends up doing 18 months in Danbury minimum security prison."

Funny how the line in the movie refers to doing 18 months in prison, and Christie's staffer got 18 months, too. If only she had seen the movie.

You never do something illegal for the boss, and you never have an affair with the boss. If something goes wrong, you're the one in trouble.
