Trump's border wall faces legal battles over private land
Source: al Jazeera
Before the construction of President Donald Trump's wall on the US-Mexico border can begin, the government must acquire land along the border that is currently privately owned.
The move might lead to legal battles with Americans such as the Flores family in in Los Ebanos, Texas.
They settled along the Rio Grande River, just across from Mexico, more than 100 years ago.
The border in this area has been a hot spot for unauthorised crossings in the past, with migrants using rafts to cross the river.

(17,644 posts)And it has to be built within US border not along it. And in the middle of the Rio Grande, wow that is going to add to the costs and further environmental destruction!

No matter which way the Repugnants vote on it puts their butts in the fire.

(22,128 posts)They will wrest this land from people by Eminent Domain, and then there will be no wall built. I hope these folks can get good lawyers who can file restraining orders.
