Chief White House strategist Stephen Bannon was unhappy with the decision to remove him from his role on the National Security Council and threatened to quit, according to a new report.
The New York Times reported Wednesday evening that Bannon resisted the move, and threatened to resign if the change was made. But the Times said his team has denied that he ever made such a threat.
The New York Times also reported that the president was frustrated with the recognition Bannon was getting for his work on the Trump administrations agenda and was unhappy with liberals calling his top adviser President Bannon.

This "report" is a bit contradictory, yet validating for what we know about these yahooes.

Won't Get Fooled Again -- The Who
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again, no, no
I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
Yeaah!
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again, no no
Yeaaah!
Meet the new boss

(111,283 posts)but the professional folks who have worked with president after president had your number and you never would have been trusted with anything you wanted to control.
It's looking more and more like he was responsible for greenlighting Assad's attack.

(19,204 posts)what a spot-on description of Bannon! Trump doesn't allow ANYONE to steal his thunder, even if it's only imaginary thunder.

(37,648 posts)That Bannon was upset, and Trump was jealous of the attention and didn't want Bannon called "President Bannon." I totally believe that.

(19,204 posts)a guy like Bannon does his best dirty and destructive work behind closed doors, out of view. Until he's totally banished from the administration he remains extremely dangerous.

(1,606 posts)I hope Bannon does rage-quit, and then proceeds to revenge-spill all the dirty laundry (granted, he would be implicated and is a guilty party as well)
He will try to threaten this I bet, but I'm not sure you can successfully manipulate Trump's malignant narcissism back around to his side. Too much public opinion out there that tells Trump "Bannon is the Brains, Trump is a dumb-dumb." Trump surely doesn't like that. Not sure that Bannon can suck up enough or weasel his way back into the good graces of Dorito Mussolini anymore. I think that Bannon's time is done, like oh-so-many sniveling sycophants in the past history of Trump's inner circle!
Bannon might have to get nasty about things! Oh oh oh. LOL
Popcorn time for sure.
