Trump's 'big announcement' on tax to be broad principles: official

Source: Reuters

President Donald Trump's promised "big announcement" next week on overhauling the U.S. tax code, a top campaign pledge, will consist of "broad principles and priorities," an administration official said on Saturday.

The president unexpectedly said on Friday at a Treasury Department event that there would be "a big announcement on Wednesday having to do with tax reform."

In a Twitter message on Saturday, he wrote: "Big TAX REFORM AND TAX REDUCTION will be announced next Wednesday."

Asked for details, the administration official, who asked not to be identified, said, "We will outline our broad principles and priorities" on Wednesday.

That's assuming he's coherent enough to string 4 words together into a sentence. If not, the pundits will definitely be using it.

9. Unless the GOP pushes their Trumpcare agenda.....

very soon, his tax cuts mean 'YUGE' deficit spending. Trumpcare was supposed to free up billions earmarked for more tax cuts to the rich. Without those dollars, he's going to expand the national debt exponentially. Well....he is anyway, but that doesn't seem to be a concern for the GOP when a RepubliCANT is in office. Deficits only matter when a Democrat inhabits the White House. The GOP inflates the federal deficit, then they expect the next Democratic President to "fix" everything. Lather, rinse, repeat. Over, and over, and over, and over...........

I'm glad these guys can't seem to shoot straight. But it's hard for me to understand why this is so hard. It's not like anyone actually gives a damn about the deficit.

"We will outline our broad principles and priorities" on Wednesday.

Sure, tax cuts for the rich, but to even do that you need a detailed proposal.

Take all the taxes the rich pay and move them over to the poor. That will undoubtedly be the broad outline, but there could be some nuance, like destroying SS by not taking out those taxes from the middle class and putting in no funding solution for this. Either way, the economy will be blown up within a few years and a major recession will hit. I think we can probably also count on a war as well, even if he has to stage an attack, so he can spend a lot of $$ on missiles from Raytheon and he'll personally make a bundle.
