FBI Director James Comey set to testify before Senate judiciary committee
Source: wtkr
The Senate judiciary committee announced Wednesday that it has scheduled a hearing for May 3 with testimony from FBI Director James Comey.
The hearing was announced for FBI oversight purposes, and is not necessarily related to congressional investigations into alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
In a March hearing before the House intelligence committee, Comey publicly confirmed that the FBI and the Department of Justice had an open investigation into potential collusion between Russia and President Donald Trumps campaign.
The judiciary committees Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism announced earlier this week it had scheduled former acting-Attorney General Sally Yates and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to testify at a May 8 hearing as part of that committees investigation into the Russia matter. The subcommittee is led by GOP Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina.

(26,299 posts)on what to say and how to say it before he testifies otherwise I suspect we wouldnt be hearing about him being brought in to give any testimony.
I could be wrong of course but I wouldnt be surprised either if thats what happened.

(11,519 posts)It just totally baffles me why Comey would think it prudent and necessary to send out a memo about emails (which were TOTALLY inconsequential) just days before the election, yet knew about 45*'s Russian links for many months before the election and chose to release nothing. I can only imagine three scenarious.... he was that scared of Congressional GOPers; he was complicit with GOPers and 45*; or he is totally incompetent.
