George W Bush's ethics lawyer calls for Donald Trump's impeachment

Source: Independent

White House refuses to hand over documents relating to former National Security Advisor's foreign payments

Samuel Osborne Thursday 27 April 2017 12:22

George W Bush's chief ethics lawyer has called for Donald Trump to be impeached if he doesn't comply with Congress's demand to release documents relating to Michael Flynn.

"US House must subpoena the docs," Richard W Painter wrote on Twitter. "If no compliance, impeach."

"Zero tolerance for WH covering up foreign payoffs."

Mr Painter was commenting on the news Mr Trump's former National Security Advisor had likely broken the law by not disclosing payments from Russia and Turkey, according to the chairman of the House Oversight Committee.

“As a former military officer, you simply cannot take money from Russia, Turkey or anybody else. And it appears as if he did take that money. It was inappropriate. And there are repercussions for the violation of law,” Republican representative Jason Chaffetz told reporters after a classified meeting with the committee.

My money is still largely on varies Congressional Repugnants as being the most likely ones that colluded with Russia especially since they continue to quash any independent investigation over what Russia was doing and with whom.

To impeach Pence if he does. We're really going to have to be prepared to impeach a lot of repubs to clean out the swamp, and a SCOTUS or two.

justice the 60 votes was only something that both parties had agreed to but which the Repugnants decided to jettison when they saw that they could use it to keep majority control over the court.
They however forgot the danger in this because if no other justice steps down in the next 4 years and if the Dems regain the Senate and the Whitehouse the Dems will feel justified in packing the court with liberal justices now and I wont blame them a bit because the Repugnants brought this on themselves.

mean Gorsuch can be removed for it.
I wish it did but the fact is there are only a few ways to get him out of office and he either has to die, step down and resign or be impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate in a trial and thats not likely to happen as you need 2/3 of the Senate to vote for impeachment.
As for the first two options I dont see either of those as likely as happening any time within the next 15+ years.

Let me try as simply as possible to state my point. For what reason or reasons can Congress impeach? The house can impeach (indict) for "high crimes and misdemeanors". That phrase is not otherwise defined. So all the House has to do is say that some act that the individual has done meets that criterion. Who validates that judgement? No one. Got it?

the Senate let alone the House to agree to impeach even if in the unlikely event the Democrats would win enough seats to have the numbers to tell the Repugnants to fuck off when it comes to impeachment.
Trump is a different story but the problem with impeaching him is that we get Pence and the list after Pence is pretty much filled with even worse people considering its largely either elected Repugnants and or Trump cabinet appointees who are repugnantly Repugnants.

But the House and Senate are a little more entitled to theirs. I for one, think that Gorsuch overstepped the bounds when he aided Mitch in his illicit activities. This particularly stresses my point: impeachment is an opinion of the House and Senate.

(unlikely as long as the Repugnants have any power to block it) he could not simply issue a Presidential pardon for Pence before hand to protect him and in return Pence issues Trump one as well once he is sworn in as President?

I shudder to think what a USA led by a pardoned felon would look like.

Then again, if taken to its extremes, and dozens of Republicans were indicted and found guilty of collusion with Mother Russia, the President could pardon each one of them and the American people would realize just how damned corrupt their leaders are.

And would vote for them in the next election cycle.

I place a call to my Congressman (a Missouri Republican - Billy Long ((PIG)) ) every week.

I found out from MCCaskill's office that impeachment begins in the house only.

I change up the message of impeachment reasons - there are SO FREAKIN MANY! - but, always make them take my zip code and name if they will. Usually just my zip.

I called Senator Blunt's office today and got ahold of a smarmy kid bastard that I had to make remember respect but did end up getting my message across.

I hope you call EVERY Week too! Please, if you don't, WHO WILL????
