Court delays EPA mercury rule case while Trump reviews

Source: The Hill

By Timothy Cama - 04/27/17 05:08 PM EDT

.....................

At issue is a rule the Obama administration wrote last year to fix a problem with the cost-benefit analysis regarding 2012 Mercury and Air Toxics Standards rule, limiting pollutants from coal-fired power plants.
.....................

The Trump administration said in requesting the delay earlier this month that it is reviewing the 2016 rule to decide if it supports it.

.................
The Environmental Defense Fund slammed Thursday’s decision and the EPA’s decision to review the rule.

“The Mercury and Air Toxics Standards have a rock-solid foundation in the law and science, and there is no basis to weaken them,” Graham McCahan, an attorney with the group, said in a statement. “We fully expect these critical health protections will continue to remain in place.”

With that Pruitt guy at the helm, this does not look good!!
-especially since Trump is pushing coal!!

"The regulation took effect in 2015 and has already been blamed for shutting down scores of coal-fired power plants."

Who the hell does he think he is? He's trying to undo the last 30 years of
US History and remake it to his liking, even though he knows little about it
except $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

was declared by Congress in 1990. They were so alarmed at the rise of pollutants that can damage the brain, they issued a publication called Neurotoxicity: Identifying and Controlling Poisons of the Nervous System that was prepared by the Office of Technology Assessment.

Since then nothing has been done even though the consequences were well known. More of our children are suffering the effects as evidenced through increased autism rates and learning disabilities etc.
This was predicted and the course of action was to do nothing other than offer special ed classes and let the parents deal with these problems the best they can. Adapting to impairment has been the solution.

If our government is not able to regulate mercury, a known neurotoxin, it is a useless government.

know no bounds.
They want to undo and destroy everything that is good and is helpful. Especially if it is from the "Obama Era". trump has a pathological jealousy of President Obama among all his other evil and egotistical faults. And the selfish, evil republicans are just using him to get done what they have been aching to do for years.
