Susan Rice denies misusing intel to damage Trump

Source: Politico

By REBECCA MORIN 04/30/17 09:44 AM EDT

Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice denied President Donald Trump's claim that she tried to unmask Americans in an attempt to implicate Trump campaign officials, adding that she never did anything "untoward with respect to the intelligence" she received.

During an interview with CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" airing Sunday morning, Rice said Trump's accusation is "absolutely false" and that members of Congress have not found anything inappropriate in the situation.

"I think now we've had subsequently members of Congress on the intelligence committees on both sides of the aisle take a look at the information that apparently was the basis for Chairman [Devin] Nunes' concern, and say publicly that they didn't see anything that was unusual or untoward," Rice said, referring to the California Republican. "I did my job, which was to protect the American people, and I did it faithfully and to the best of my ability, and never did I do anything that was untoward with respect to the intelligence I received."

When asked by Zakaria about Trump blaming the Obama administration for security clearance of Michael Flynn, Rice said that the Trump administration was expected to do additional vetting for senior White House or administration appointments.

It is great that this is posted here - even though we did not believe Nunes - because it provides support that the Obama administration did nothing wrong on this. This could help us if we need to respond to that accusation, which like other debunked accusations, resurfaces on the RW as if it were carved in stone somewhere. (search Susan Rice on twitter - and you will almost certainly find this used as a reason to lock her and Obama ... up! note - just did this and the RW is out in force)

From the so-called leader of the free world to the "failing New York Times":

TRUMP: Well, I think that some of it had to do with the election. They thought they were going to win. You know, winning the Electoral College is, for a Republican, is close to impossible and I won it quite easily. And I think they are still recovering from that, but they are recovering now. I think the Susan Rice thing is a massive story. I think it’s a massive, massive story. All over the world, I mean other than The New York Times.

TRUMP: I think it’s one of the biggest stories. The Russia story is a total hoax. There has been absolutely nothing coming out of that. But what, you know, what various things led into it was the story that we’re talking about, the Susan Rice. What’s happened is terrible. I’ve never seen people so indignant, including many Democrats who are friends of mine. I’ve never seen them acting this way. Because that’s really an affront on them, you know, they are talking about civil liberties. It’s such an affront, what took place.

This is the most powerful human being on the face of the earth making personal accusations against an individual while offering no proof or evidence?

Who could possibly believe Susan Rice shouldn't be screaming from the highest mountain top how this jackass fraud of corruption has wronged her on an UNPRCEDENTED level that brings into question the fitness, character and temperament of the White House occupant?

Just another accounting we need to hold the Liar-in-Chief to!
