Cities join call for impeachment

Source: Politico

A growing number of local governments are clamoring for Congress to act against Donald Trump.

Congress may not be ready to launch impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, but a growing number of cities and towns are trying to push members in that direction.

Brookline, Mass., became the 10th and latest local government Thursday to pass a resolution calling for impeachment, a step designed to add pressure on the state’s congressmen to launch a formal investigation that could ultimately lead to the president’s removal from office.

The Massachusetts towns of Cambridge, Amherst, Pelham and Leverett have already made the call, and Newton has a proposal up for consideration.

California is another hotbed of impeachment. The Los Angeles city council in early May overwhelmingly passed a measure asking for impeachment proceedings to begin. Richmond, Alameda and Berkeley did the same.

In CA, San Francisco & San Jose might also pass resolutions...both cities having large Democratic majorities.

(Too bad Chicago has a Trump-loving turd named Ed Burke blocking their resolution)

From what I understand, only the House can ask for an independent commission to investigate him in addition to the committees in Congress and FBI Mueller. Congressman Engel has introduced a bill in the House but he said it faces an uphill battle. There are many groups sponsoring the rallies scheduled for next Sat (June 3) in over 110 cities and Wash DC. It's called #Marchfortruth and the goal is to get an independent investigation that is non partisan, can't be derailed by the Donald or the GOP, is timely, can ask for tax records, can request staff and resources to do a complete investigation and the public will be kept informed. The Women's March, MoveOn.org, Change.org, etc are supporting the rallies. You can Google it for more info.

the House and Senate and both of them are under control of the Repugnants and they are not going to impeach Trump for any reason as long as he remains useful to them.
