Trump Budget Chief Suggests Dem Mole Behind CBO O'Care Repeal Score

Source: Talking Points Memo

By TIERNEY SNEED Published JUNE 1, 2017 9:43 AM

It’s become the knee-jerk reaction for Republicans, in light of an ugly Congressional Budget Office analysis of their Obamacare repeal bill, to point the finger at the non-partisan research agency instead.

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney took it a step further this week, by questioning the abilities of Holly Harvey, the head of its health analysis division, to be non-partisan.

“At some point, you’ve got to ask yourself, has the day of the CBO come and gone?” Mulvaney told the Washington Examiner Wednesday. “How much power do we give to the CBO under the 1974 Budget Act? We’re hearing now that the person in charge of the Affordable Health Care Act methodology is an alum of the Hillarycare program in the 1990s who was brought in by Democrats to score the ACA.”

Prior to coming on to the CBO in 2009, Harvey served in the Clinton administration’s Health and Human Services Department, according to the Examiner. The CBO director, Keith Hall, who signed off on the CBO score of the GOP health bill, was the chief economist for the Council of Economic Advisers in the George W. Bush White House and was handpicked by then House Budget Committee Chair Tom Price (who is now Trump’s HHS secretary) to lead the CBO.

That is the basis of RW talk radio since Rush started 20+ years ago. It really goes back to Lewis Powell's memo in 1971. Powell's memo was more directed at employers and businesses becoming more active in politics but he also lamented the conservatives losing on college campuses and thereby not having experts in place to appear on newscasts.

All of this has been constant since then, namely Fox News, but it's ramping up as a battle cry now. Fox barely covers the Trump investigations and talk radio is pounding on the desk imploring listeners to avoid all news. All news, except the person talking.

Hey, Mulvaney all presidents have followed the CBO and changed their budgets since its inception.

Hillarycare??? WTF?? Little factoid for this psychopath ... the ACA came from Romney's time as governor. Your sorry lying ass is so intimidated by a strong, brilliant, superior women you have to go after her long after she is out of public office.

The Trump Administration does one thing very well: shooting the messenger when bad news comes out.

Republican Projection Syndrome.

In this case, he accuses others of underhanded partisanship because it is within himself.
