Former DHHS Commissioner Mayhew announces run for governor in 2018

Former Maine Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew said Tuesday she will run for governor in 2018, the first step in a campaign that will likely focus on her record of fiscal management and welfare reform.

Mayhew said she wants to continue the work of Republican Gov. Paul LePage, who is finishing his second term. She told the Bangor-based WVOM talk radio hosts George Hale and Ric Tyler that she would run during an early-morning call-in interview. The station and its hosts have been a favorite platform for LePage when he wants to make news or an announcement.

Making it harder to be eligible for it.
Requiring photo ID to get it.
Changing the cutoff formulas to kick people off the rolls.

She was in charge of HEALTH and HUMAN SERVICES the whole time and did NOTHING for EITHER of them.
