On Monday, the Trump Organization announced the launch of a new hotel chain inspired by the experiences President Donald Trumps adult sons, Eric and Donald Jr., had while traveling the country during their fathers presidential campaign.
The so-called American Idea chain is beginning with three hotels in Mississippi, a state Trump won by 18 points, according to the Washington Post. Mississippi is also home to the first dozen new Scion hotels owned by the Trump Organization, which continues to be owned by the president. Days after the inauguration, the Trump Organization announced plans to triple the number of Trump-branded hotels in the country.
On Tuesday, Eric and Don Jr. both of whom promised to distance themselves from their fathers administration were on Good Morning America to talk about their new hotels and defend their dad.
At one point, reporter Tom Llamas asked Don Jr., Critics may say, American Idea, youre going to build hotels in Trump country are you trying to make money off the politics?

"The AGA is eager to work with the Trump administration. In this letter, we talked about how the AGA hopes to build a policy environment that is conducive to reinvestment in innovation," Freeman said.
At one time, Trump Entertainment Resorts owned seven casino properties from New Jersey to Indiana to California. He has since closed or sold all of them. Freeman thinks a Trump administration could help casinos, including gaming properties on the coast, by creating an environment that would be welcoming to international investors and foreign travelers.
Mississippi has joined five other states in filing a brief before the Supreme Court that could bring sports betting to our state. Right now, federal law allows sports betting only in Nevada. In the past, Donald Trump supported the expansion of legal sports betting and the gaming association hopes a Trump administration weighs in on the issue.
"President-elect Trump has expressed his views on sports betting and appears to agree that current law has failed. We are optimistic that states will soon have the opportunity to choose if they wish to regulate sports betting in the same way they have chosen to regulate other gaming products," said Freeman.
According to the AGA, the federal ban on sports betting drives an illegal underground market of at least $150 billion annually. Coast casinos and other gaming jurisdictions will be keeping a close eye on the Supreme Court. Justices could decide whether or not to hear the case expanding sports betting sometime in 2017. "

(19,204 posts)the Trump "brand"is definitely going to take a YUGE hit in the very near future. Of course the Trumps saw this entire Presidential thing ONLY as a way to increase their wealth, but this is going to backfire on them. Number one; most of their bedrock supporters couldn't afford to stay at an over-priced "Trump" facility. Number two; the name 'Trump' will forever be known for dishonesty and over-inflated prices, as well as sub-par quality.
It would be funny as hell if Trump went bankrupt - for the sixth time - because his vanity outreached his lack of business sense. Again. Russians don't like to lose billions of dollars, and they're a particularly nasty bunch when it comes to retribution. Even someone like the Trumps would have to be looking over their shoulders constantly.

(15,540 posts)Once again, the media tries to normalize this shit. I caught about 2 minutes of it and turned the channel as soon as I could, especially after I heard one of them say, "Our father didn't have to run for President" or some such b.s. trying to infer that he only ran because he loves this country. What a heap of crap. He ran because he's a malignant narcissist who needs to be in the constant limelight.
God, where do Republicans find these sorts of a**holes? First Bush and now this. How anyone could admit to being a Republican nowadays is beyond me.
Oh, and Mississippi - why am I not surprised that they voted for him? Aren't they at the top of the list of uneducated populace?
