Trump To Media: Twitter Isn't Going Anywhere

Source: Mediaite

by Ken Meyer | 9:14 am, June 6th, 2017

Another day, another morning where President Trump gets on Twitter to slam the media over its critical coverage of him.

There’s been quite a bit of conversation recently about how the media should interpret Trump’s tweets, particularly whenever he uses them to make political declarations instead of issuing official statements or speaking with press people. White House advisers Kellyanne Conway and Sebastian Gorka both gave interviews on Monday, and both of them slammed the press over their “obsession” with what Trump tweets.

It’s also worth noting that the presidents’s tweets came out while both CNN and MSNBC were discussing his Twitter habits.

Coincidence?

Keep spewing those tweets, "mr. president," the more unhinged the better. Helluva job you're doing......

that is a disservice to thinking people everywhere.

It may fit simpleton's mind, but it is pure propaganda.

you be any less self aware? The only people who want you to stop tweeting are your lawyers and your employees. The media you love to decry LOVES that you give them ammunition every single day to take your pathetic ass down. Keep up the tweeting, donnie - it's gold.

One thing I'll say about Trump, he has become his own worst enemy. In the face of a federal government dominated at virtually all levels by the GOP, there are few who could manage to engineer a legislative gridlock situation the way that Trump has. Being completely devoid of self-evaluation, not to mention political tact, he fails to perceive his own self-induced sabotage. Which, given the grim circumstances we face daily under this dangerous imbecile, is some small measure of consolation.

On behalf of the entire news media, Mr. Trump: Please, tweet away

...

It is The Washington Post’s inclusion in that esteemed group of outlets that allows me to be forceful in response to your original tweet. The media is, in fact, very happy to have you tweet what you’re thinking at any given moment. It offers a fascinating glimpse into your presidency and your train of thought and allows us to flesh out other stories about your administration with first-person reflections from the chief executive himself.

The media — that nebulous, sprawling, poorly defined entity that is so reviled in the abstract even if individual outlets themselves may not be — does tend to take issue with what you say on social media, though, since often what you say is incorrect, misleading or false. The Post created a tool to fact-check the tweets right on Twitter, simply because it was faster than writing lengthy responses to all of the ways any individual tweet might have been incorrect.

But we’ve also been tracking your claims cumulatively, documenting literally hundreds of false or misleading claims since you took office, including scores on social media. It’s the media’s job to validate claims and present accurate information, and your Twitter account gives us a great deal to work with.

It's hard to believe that such a poorly designed piece of crap has become so central to American public life. Besides the ridiculous 140-character limit, the replies and retweets are a disorganized mess.

He has had absolutely everything going in his favor, if he only would bother to do his job, like an adult with a conscience.

Going outside the already widely available channels which have been accessible to all Presidents makes him look insane, and shabby, like a congenital criminal.

The world wakes up every morning to find that Trump has once again used the wee hours of the night and morning to make himself and his party look just that little bit worse than they looked the day before.

The dwindling number of his mindless supporters takes his nonsense seriously (well, OK, except for even THEIR inability to say what a covfefe is), and the rest of us watch in wonder as he digs himself, his administration and his party deeper and deeper into a re-enactment of "Journey To The Center Of The Earth."
