(129,118 posts)it would have been headline news, with days and days of RW bloviating about "protecting embassies" (at a near Benghazi!!1!!! level of frenzy), and hearings and hearings.
with claims that it was done by Ukrainians fascists who didn't want to give the Russians a fair shake.
We won't hear most of that narrative, one way or the other. I'm still not sure that we're willing to forgive the 98% of Ukrainians that aren't fascist and not say all Ukrainians are fascist, but we've gone cold on the "poor oppressed Russians in Ukraine" script. I mean, when you see military-style weapons-training and propaganda camps for the Donetsk People's Republic with their flag flying ... from 5 or 8 years before the events that triggered the uprising which led to the formation of the DPR, you know it was a long-term plan for some people who just needed a plausible excuse.
That kind of thing's been happening there. After all, the war's still going on. Clashes from 07 JUN 2017, mostly minor but some involving heavy artillery and infanty, are on the map at http://informator.media/archives/239285 . I'll ignore twitter feed as unreliable--nobody accepts what they don't already believe.
