Ryan defends Trump on Comey: 'The president's new at this'

Source: Politico

By RACHAEL BADE 06/08/2017 12:12 PM EDT

Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday defended President Donald Trump's communications with ex-FBI director James Comey, saying Trump wasn't "steeped in the long-running protocols" of how to interact with law enforcement.

"The president's new at this," Ryan said at a news conference. "He's new at government."

The Wisconsin Republican also expressed sympathy for Trump's frustration with the Russia investigation, noting that Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump was not the subject of the probe. "I think the American people now know why he was frustrated."

Double standard that like their then complaints about Bill Clinton's shenanigans, they are insincere because when applying their alleged standards to the Orange Toxin, he should have been disqualified by their own opinion.

Ergo, the man knows that attempting to influence an ongoing investigation is not lawful. What is Ryan trying to say here? That the man lost all rational memory from the time he accused the Clintons of interfering into the FBI email flap back during the spring-summer of last year and less than a year later?
